Chapter # 1
It was almost midnight, and Jenna was still in the hospital. When she got out of the washroom, she tied her medium-length brown hair in a ponytail, brown eyes, then wore her white hospital coat, walking out. When she was walking through the hallway with a smile on her face, she heard some man shouting at a distance. "Hey! Help! Help! Is there a doctor here!? He can't die like this!" This got her attention, so she started going that way to see who that person was. She walked forward and saw a man in a really messy form with a lot of blood staining his shirt with the stretcher on which another man was lying with a lot more blood than him, which made it difficult to see his face. One of the nurses came and asked while checking his condition, "What happened to him? How much time has passed? We have to take him." That man panicked too much, and said, "Can you please ask these questions later?! I just know that he is alive and shouldn't die either!" There were two more men with him seemingly frightened too. "Okay, okay, we will take him to the operation theatre but we have to know what exactly the situation is?" They asked again, making arrangements to take him. "Don't you understand?! I have just said you can ask whatever you want later! Just take him, he can't die like this!" He shouted rudely, he gave all of the people around them attention, "Please understand you have to-" Jenna couldn't take all this so she got irked, and cut them off. "Excuse me Mr! You should know that someone's life and death are not in our hands. We will try our best." She said coldly to him, then pointed a finger at him. "And you can't make loud noises by shouting aimlessly, you will not get anything out of this." She hissed, but he just rolled his eyes at her and moved to the person, "Just take him for once! Save him! Then you can ask! Okay?" He said rudely, constantly raising his voice. "You know what I think? I think it's a police case." She said, looking at him suspiciously. He made a shocked face and looked too terrified. "So?" She asked, but he gritted his teeth and turned to her. "I'm not here to talk to anyone! okay?" He said and again turned to them, "Please take him, I'm begging you now..! Do anything but not let him die." "No need to worry here, our best surgeon, Dr Jenna, she can look after him-" The nurse said, pointing at Jenna, preparing the patient to take him. He laughed wickedly after hearing this. "She? So I'll just hand him to her? Does she even know anything other than talking?!" He completed it mockingly, continuously laughing, he sat around there on a seat. And seeing this ill-mannered guy angered took over Jenna but she took a long breath, "Take the patient quickly, there's no need to wait for anything, okay?" She instructed them and they nodded, taking the patient with them. Then she looked, and went to him, standing in front of him, crossing her arms at her chest, looking at him furiously. She had never seen this disrespectful person before who didn't even know how to talk in the hospital about saving someone. "In this hospital, we don't have any place for a man without manners like you. Have you come here to save him or are you ordering us around? Don't you have a thing called patience? People here were disturbed by the unnecessary noises you created. Nobody does that here." She said coldly, retorting to him, trying to make him understand. He laughed, rolling his eyes, then stopped at her. "Whatever. I came here because I can't afford to lose him, so, you should, better save him at any cost. Okay?" 10 years ago: Jenna's age was 18 and her school was about to finish in a few months. She hates her stepmother very much because her father married her just a few months after her mother’s death. She had not moved on from her mother’s death, she loved her from all her heart and couldn't endure it, so she couldn't believe her father could do anything like that. And because of that, she became so cold and didn't care about anyone or about doing any activity, had no interest in her studies, didn't like to talk to anyone and had no friends. She was at school and it was her break. She was sitting in the corner with her headphones and ipod when her stepmother, also a teacher in her school, came and snatched the headphones from her, which made her stand up and look at her all pissed. "God knows what you will do in the future, Jenna? You are literally becoming more and more stubborn! Who brings this to school, huh? I'm taking it away now." She scolded her, taking all these away. "What is your problem? I know by doing this you get so happy, by pissing me off." Jenna retorted back. "I get happy? You are doing this to yourself." She scoffed. "But as long as you're here, I can’t beat you." Jenna said, making weird faces, making her furious and holding her arms harshly. "You are forgetting all manners, I'm aware, just wait, I'll tell this to your dad!" She scolded badly, Jenna pulled her arm back, and gave her all the stuff she had. "Take it. I'm not afraid of you now. And go do what you always have been doing, go and tell Dad." Jenna spat at her and walked away. And her mother cursed under her breath. After school, on the way home with her dad, Jenna was sitting in the car leaning back on her seat, closing her eyes. Her father, Martin, said, "Jenna, sometimes you should talk.." He said sweetly, "What happened to you dear? Why have you become like this?" He asked, concerned again. "You should have known.." Jenna mumbled, remaining like this. "What- At least make some friends," He suggested. "Don't you understand? I'm dead inside." She said coldly, a bit irritated. "Have you lost your mind? These kinds of talks don't suit you, Jenna." He said, not liking her behaviour. "Get used to it, Dad, because that's what is true anyway." She said in the same tone and they both arrived at their home. "No! You shouldn't be saying these things, neither will I listen! Understand?" He said, a bit outraged by his daughter's talk. Jenna scoffed and said while getting out of the car. "You should have thought about this all before marrying that woman!" And shut the door closed and went in. "What am I gonna do with this girl?" He said, tensed about his daughter's behaviour. It was the weekend and Jenna was at a*****e by herself. She was checking out some CDs and DVDs when she looked around a bit, then put one DVD in her bag, stealing it. George, was too at that store, and he saw her putting that in her bag, and that she was about to go, but a shop man stopped her at the door and asked her to let them check her bag, but she started to argue with them. "Let me go! I didn't steal anything!" When she didn't listen, that man started to look into her bag, "How dare you touch me? Don't you get it that I didn't steal anything? Let me go!" She reasoned, just then George came and said to that shop man. "Hey yeah, you can not touch her like this. And she's right, she didn't steal anything, I saw when she was there, okay?" "Alright, if you say so, but if she stole, then it'll be your fault." The shop man left her and said to him, "Yeah, definitely." He agreed with him. Jenna immediately walked out of the shop, when she went a little far. George came running behind her, calling her, "Excuse me!" She turned back and looked at him, then around herself, thinking if he was calling her or anybody else. "Yes, you!" He stopped in front of her. "Aren't you a little bit ashamed of stealing? Behaving like you didn't do anything at all?" He asked her seriously. Jenna acts ignorant, "Me and stealing? Listen, I didn't steal or anything- and wait, you were just saying something else back there, why say those things now?" She said and asked him instead. "You should've said thanks to me for saving you, but look, even now you are lying," George said. "Thanks? For what? I didn't tell you to save me. You could've said it to them." She shrugged, "Look, I defended you because you are a student, okay? And you shouldn't do that." George reasoned. "I am not a student or a child! And how many times I'm gonna say- I didn't. Steal. Anything! So don’t come after me." She retorted, "Look, what you have to do is, give me that dvd and no one will ever gonna know." He said calmly trying to make her understand, but she remained stubborn. "I have said that I stole nothing!" And that was enough, "I guess you will not get it like this-" George started to snatch her bag from her and she resisted, not once leaving it. "Leave my bag! What kind of behaviour is this?" Jenna shouted. George was able to take her bag away with stuff dropping on the ground, "What was that, huh?" She said rudely. "You were not going to listen another way-" He said, coming closer, but she suddenly kicked him on his back and he fell down, then she started putting things back in the bag. George let out a shout of pain, looking at her with a little amazement, he stood up. "What was that? No really, you are an amazing girl who hits on her own mistakes, wow." He leaned down to her and continued, "You have impressed me, and I found you very charming, be my girlfriend." He smiled. After hearing this, Jenna almost gasped. After being done quickly, she stood up, looking at him shocked. He got closer to her, "Come on, we should definitely go out today-" "Don't come near me," She cut him off, taking a step back, "Do you want to be arrested? I am a high school student-" She said furiously but stopped, and George started laughing, making her confused and slightly shocked. "See, you are a student and look at you all lying, that's good you admitted one thing. I saved you so you should thank me, but, till now, it's incredible." He told her with a smile, but she scoffed, turning to go, and George saw that dvd on the ground. "Oh, come on, look at what you were saying, even now you will say that you didn't steal?" He said amusingly and she turned and looked, he was leaning down to get it. "So should I take you back to the shop now? Hmm?-" He saw she ran and got on the bus which had come just now, and left, leaving him perplexed. What is this girl?
