Chapter 1 She came up to the foot of my bed and told me, "It might not be as bad as you are making it seem." She picked up the gold chain from the bed and wrapped it around her finger. For some reason, I added that last line on purpose. She then looked mean at me, so I smiled back. She finally gave up, but I had a better plan. She got on the bed and rubbed the spot next to her. She could see the beautiful view every day, so I put her down next to the window. That was her word: "This is beautiful." I knew she would enjoy it.
