As Brett revved the engine of his truck in the garage, Levi and Roxy waited at the back door. They had to time their exit just right to remain undiscovered and get away from the snake-shifter and whoever else was out there. All discussion about Roxy’s love life issues had been tabled for now until they were once again safe from danger. But Roxy definitely still had questions, and she still planned to get answers.
The sound of the engine horsepower increasing exponentially filled the small cabin until tires squealed, and a loud crash resounded. It meant Brett had smashed through the garage door and was acting as a decoy, leading their stalkers away so that they could run.
