Historical Notes I enjoy the opportunity to insert historical figures into my stories. Murder at Madison Square Garden feature just one real person who lived and served during WWII: Charles Lindbergh (February 4, 1902-August 26, 1974): The public has long been fascinated by this man who was an aviator, military officer, author, inventor, and activist. Referred to as Lucky Lindy, Lindbergh was fascinated by mechanics and flight from an early age. He quit college to enroll at Nebraska Aircraft Corporation’s flying school. After receiving his license he went into barnstorming and then became an air mail pilot.
