Lee's pov

I couldn't believe she was kissing me. I felt like I have waited so long for this moment that I must be dreaming. Could she really feel the same way I did? I held on to her like she was going to disappear as we kissed. It was fate that we kissed on the Ferris wheel just like when we were younger.

Once the ride was over, we walked away hand in hand. Being here with her like this made me feel like a giddy teenager again. We walked back to the auction and was happy to find that we sold all our livestock and for top dollar. Since we were done here, I thought maybe I could take her out to dinner.

"So, I don't know about you but after all that junk food I sure could use some real food."

"Is that your way of asking me out on a date."

I just looked at her and laughed. I don't know why I was so nervous. I felt like a school boy all over again. This woman drove me crazy in such a good way. I loved the effect she had on me. I was happy when I was with her.

"Yes, I guess I am."

"Took you long enough."

She laughed as she headed to the truck. I looked after her in amazement. My little spitfire was back. One thing was sure my life with her would never be boring. I got in the truck and drove us to this small dinner. I didn't want some place to packed because I wanted to be able to talk. After that kiss I felt now was the time to tell her exactly how I felt. We sat down and told the waitress what we wanted. I was happy that she actually ordered some food as well.

"This is a cute little place" She said.

"Yea I love little places like this over the big restaurants."

"So, are we going to talk about the real reason we're here?"

"We're here because I'm hungry. Why do you think we're here?"

She looked down at the table and just started to drink her water. This was not going the way I planned at all. The waitress brought out our food, and we just sat there in awkward silence as we ate. Why is it so hard to tell her how I feel? I guess I was just scared she was going to reject me.

I needed to tell her how I feel, and I needed to do it now. I grabbed her hand and she gladly gave it to me. I rubbed circles on her hand. I couldn't wait to one day put a ring on her finger. I looked into her beautiful eyes and knew the moment was now.

"Rose I love you."

She looked at me and had tears in her eyes. Was this the moment where she tells me she just wants to be friends? My heart was racing, and I had a lump in my throat. I was so nervous.

"I love you to Lee. I think a part of me always have."

We just sat there looking at each other and holding hands. I wanted to leave because I needed to feel her in my arms. I motioned for the check, but the waitress told us it was on the house. We hurried out to the truck and once we were in our lips found each other's. I could spend the rest of my life kissing these lips.
