Chapter 7

Lee’s pov

I called my dad because I didn’t want Rose to be by herself. I made it back to the ranch and made the phone calls that would need to be made to explain to everyone what was going on. Everyone seemed really worried about Rose and her father. They told me to keep them informed.

My dad told me Walter (Rose’s dad) was in surgery and he would let me know once he heard something. Everyone at the ranch was worried. There wasn’t much to do here today anyway, so I told everyone to get ready that we were all going to go to the hospital and be there for Rose. She may get mad, but I would deal with it later. For right now she needs us.

She should be surrounded by the people that love her dad the most, and no one can work when their worried like this. We all piled in my truck and went up to the hospital. We all walked in and was told to go up in the third floor.

Rose looked shocked yet relieved when she saw us all. She hugged everyone and told them thanks for being here. Then she turned to me and just fell into my arms. It felt like coming home again with her being in my arms. She was meant to be here.

“It’s going to be ok Rose he’s strong.”

“I know it’s just I can’t lose my day.”

I held on to her for dear life. I never wanted to let her go. She felt to good being in my arms. All those old feelings are still very much alive. I was still in love with my Rose. I wanted nothing more than to take her pain away, but I couldn’t. So, I would just hold her, and be here for her as much as she would allow me.

I told her I would be right back. I went down to the cafeteria and grabbed coffee and some sandwich’s since I knew neither her nor my dad hate eaten anything. Her father would never forgive me if I allowed either of them to get sick because they were worried about him.

I went back up and gave everyone a coffee and a sandwich. She took hers and said thank you. I knew she wasn’t used to letting anyone help her, but for now she was just going to deal with it. I was here for her and I wasn’t going anywhere. She didn’t have to do everything on her own anymore. I wanted to show her that she can count on me.

I made a promise to her dad to not only help with the ranch but to also look after Rose if anything happened to him. He was scared that she would be all alone. I would never let her be alone. Even if she never loved me, I would always be here for her even if it was just as friends. I wanted more then that but if it wasn’t meant to be then at least she was back in my life.
