8 months later

Rose's pov

I can't believe today was the day. We were finally going to bring our baby into the world. Well it turns out I was pregnant. Lee has been so wonderful. He is so excited to be a dad.

We got married a few months ago. We had a simple ceremony right here on the ranch. I missed my father dearly. He missed so much. That's why I didn't have a big wedding since he wasn’t here to walk me down the aisle.

Now here I was about to give birth to my first child. I wanted my father here for this, but I knew he was watching over me. I was nervous about being a parent. I think Lee was also. We didn't want to find out what we were having so we were going to be surprised.

The doctor came in and said it was time. Lee came and held my hand as I pushed. I was so overcome with emotions when I heard a little cry for the first time. The doctor told us we had a girl. I looked up at Lee and we both had tears in our eyes.

They wrapped her up in a pink blanket than handed her to me. Holding our daughter and seeing the love in my husband’s eyes made me feel complete. This is what my father wanted for me all along. a family of my own. Something to carry on our legacy. I finally got what he meant. I finally had my happy ending.

Lee’s pov

I sit here holding my daughter so thankful that I took that one phone call that day. That I gave up my life or what I thought was a life and came back home to help Rose’s father on the ranch. I have a feeling now he knew what he was doing all along. He wanted me here for Rose not the ranch and if I could I would thank him.

Since I can’t I promise to be the best husband to his daughter and love her with everything I am. I promise to always protect and provide both his daughter and now his granddaughter. I would be the kind of father that both him and my father are. I have big shoes to fill but I know I can do it.

I looked over at my wife and all the love I have for her just consumed me. That amazingly sexy woman was mine. I get the honor of spending the rest of my life with her. She just brought our daughter into this world and still looks flawless. Her strength never ceases to amaze me.

I am truly blessed. The ranch is successful, and everyone has become my second family. My father once he was done fulfilling Rose’s fathers bucket list came and lived on the ranch with us. I was glad to have him there. Becoming a father has made me appreciate him so much more. I wish my mom could have been here to meet this little one and see the man I have become. I know Rose wishes her father was here as well. Our hearts are full of love and we know our loved ones that have passed is looking down on us.
