"SHADOWS FROM THE PAST"
The air in the room was thick with silence, the faint hum of the old fan did nothing to cool the warmth of the night, the moonlight that came into the small room through the window covered with the white curtain that had yellowed with age and the faded posters in addition to the to the flaking paints showed just how much life had put on the shoulders of the inhabitants of the house.
Raina lay still on her small thin bed her body tangled in the sheets of her bed, sleep had not come easily and it clung to her like a suffocating fog so thick that one couldn't not see through.
Her mind twisted in the darkness dragging her back to the memories she desperately tried to erase from her mind.
The divorce of her parents and the departure of her father had become a nightmare that she couldn't fight.
She cried her eyes out when her father left that fateful afternoon, that was 7 years ago it took her too long to swallow the bitter truth that her father was no longer a part of her life but at 18 years, she had come to accept the fact that he was gone forever and she had no one but her mother but still, the memories she had of him haunted her.
