CHAPTER TWELVE

VIANNE POV

I bolted out of the classroom as soon as the professor was done with his teaching, I walked briskly down the hallway, wiping my hands on my face, what the hell was that... maybe I'm just overreacting, but I don't really understand why I was on edge back there, or why I practically ran out of the lecture hall after class ended.

I raked my hands through my hair suddenly feeling stupid, he must be wondering why I'm acting weird, not to mention the fact that I needed to...

"Vianne!! " what... I turned to see May looking at me like I had two heads

"yeah"

I answered still unsure on the reason she was calling me in that manner, we don't attend history together, so we separated this morning

"Why are you looking so flustered, I have been calling you, but you didn't seem to hear or answer??"

" Ooh , it's nothing to worry about, I'm fine, maybe I didn't hear you, my class just ended"

I said and started walking towards the canteen, I think I need something cold

"Ooh great I have something to show you"

I looked at her as she was so excited, looking at me

" ugh .. what is that"

I said clearly amused, looking at this cheerful girl I never get tired of seeing her exaggerate over very simple things, though I don't know what she wants this time around...

" I'm going to plant this magic seed, and watch it grow" She said looking at me, I chuckled as I continued to walk

" Hey I'm serious"

she said and I turned to look at her

" really, where did you find this magic seed, and where do you plan on planting it"

I said and she started explaining how she got it from her grandma, and it has magical powers, but she needed to watch it grow.

"And how do you plan on doing that"

I said whilst taking the drink I just bought as we got to the canteen

" that is why I need you to come with me,

I'm going to keep a spy camera beside it, so that I can record its growth, and it needs to be at the highest building here

" wait what... "

I said surprised " According to my grandma, it is supposed to be at the highest building it grows within a week, which is clearly against normal biology for this kind of plant, I need to prove it's magical"

I looked at her more amused as she was looking at me as if everything she just said makes sense and I don't want to reason with her, I sighed and looked at the direction of her eyes...The Library of this university is one of the tallest buildings here.... I really can't believe this

" where exactly are you__"

"The rooftop, that's the exact spot for the plant to thrive" she said immediately cutting me off

" May I hate going to the rooftop, you know that elevator makes me sick after"

I complained, I'm not really the type that is comfortable with staying in an elevator, I don't know why but it just started recently, that I can't really use the elevator, no matter how short the time I spend there

"We can just use the steps, come on..."

climbing the steps will wear me out entirely, I can't really say no to her

oh my God, where did I know this girl from!!!

" Fine, if I climb that ridiculous steps with you, you're going to take me to that Nigerian restaurant... and you will pay"

I said looking at her and she smiled and almost nodded immediately after I finished, looking at her smiling excitedly, I can't help but smile with her too.

" I want to check out the musical room, I haven't been there since I came here"

I told my roommate that was on her bed, busy with her phone

" ooh ' she said, but still not not looking up

" Are you coming??" I asked her

" No, I'm expecting my cramps today so I don't plan on really leaving my room today"

I chuckled at that, May is totally different person when she is having period cramps.

" No problem, I'm going to check it out, I'll be back in a jiffy" I said and she nodded wordlessly, I left the room and headed to the building, we had no class today so I decided to tour some part of the school I haven't been to since I came here.

I walked inside the very spacious room, wow this place is actually very beautiful,

the room I currently walked into looks like a typical practice room, there were guitars, violin, pianos and there is a band section, wow I love the way everything here is built with a kind of classical touch, it's a feeling that there is a touch of history in everything here.

I smiled and walked in, the room is empty but I can suddenly hear very faint strikes of cords...

Someone is playing the guitar, I walked towards the source , and I can now hear soft singing, very light, its barely there but I can still hear it, so I walked briskly up what looks like a stage and raised the curtain to find a guy's back facing me, he was singing softly while carefully stinging his hands on the cords of the guitar.

Wow, it's not even the fact that he was playing or singing that got me, but the song he was currently singing...

It was a gospel song, I love this song so much, and he was singing it so softly it was like the satisfying sound of a peaceful waterfall flowing down the mountain and the hills, I was so excited that I quickly moved in front of him and was staring at him without bothering to say anything, I didn't want to distract him

but my movement already startled him and he looked up at me and he stopped playing and singing as well, and he stood up smiling at me

" Hi" I said, looking at his face clearly now he had ginger hair very curly it almost looks scattered, his eyes were deep and sunken with a little scar on his eyebrows

" Hi my name is Chris"

I was startled when he introduced himself properly offering me a handshake

" I'm Vianne , ugh... sorry for barging in like that and distracting you, I just really loved the song you were singing and you have a nice voice"

I said determined not to make a fool of myself and introduce myself like a normal person

" Ooh, thanks" He said simply, his eyes studying me

" I'm actually new here, so I wanted to tour some place I haven't been to ' I continued

"well I can help you , I don't exactly have anything doing right now, I mean... I have been here multiple times, so I can help you in your tour "

Now how can I say no to that, I smiled and nodded excitedly, making him smile too as he quickly gathered his things and he walked out and I followed
