My mother was always very maternal, so I didn't think it was odd at all when she wrapped her arms around Blake, despite the fact that he towered over her. She shushed him, patting his back and rubbing small circles. He was sobbing, fat tears rolling down his face before burying into my mother's shoulder. She looked over at me with sympathetic eyes. I wanted to ask what she was thinking, but it didn't seem like the right time to ask. It wasn't only my life that had been completely thrown on it's head. Blake lost not only his father, but the position that he should have been given as a birth right.
