The Last Heartbreak-Book 1 Finale

"I will be back in a few." I said to Luke.It was just the morning and he wasn't going to office.

I had other plans so I decided to go out with Enrique today.

"Do you have to go out today?" He asked in a drowsy voice.

"I will come back in an hour or so." I smiled at him.

"I love you." I said as he embraced me.I looked up and kissed him warmly.

"Come back soon." He whispered in my ear.

"Do you think he will like the ring?" I asked Enrique.

"He definitely will.After all,you will give it to him out  of love." said Enrique.

"This one or that one?" I asked him.

"Let your heart decide." He replied.

"Yeah,I think he will like this one." I said and handed it to the man.

"Hey,um, do you think it's weird for me to give him this ring and ask him to marry me?" I asked.

"No, definitely not.He will be extremely happy,trust me." He said.

"Isn't it too expensive? If you need I can give you some money." He said.

"Come on, Enrique.I've been an army my entire life and I have enough money to at least buy an expensive ring for him." I said.

I took the box and kept in inside my bag.I was too much excited.The ring was silver and had a shiny black diamond.It took my entire life's money to buy it.

"What if he rejects me?" I asked.

"Why are you so negative? I mean why would he reject you.He loves you more than anything else." He replied.

"Mhm." That was a good point.I really couldn't wait to go home and propose him.

Enrique dropped me in front of the lavish villa.My heart was pounding.It felt like it will burst out of my chest any minute.

I walked towards the house but something seemed off.A few guards were carrying two luggages and the door was wide open.

What is happening? I thought to myself and walked towards the door.Luke was standing inside the house and there was Kira behind him.

"Luke... what's happening? What's all this?" I asked out of curiousity.

"Lucia,you need to go back." He said in a strangely calm manner.His eyes had no emotion or love left.

"What do you mean I have to leave ?" I asked as I started tearing up.

"You can't stay with me anymore.I don't love you so you better leave." He said in a strict tone.

"This... what is this?" I gasped,"There must be some weakness right? They are forcing you right?" I was shaking uncontrollably.

"No!" He yelled as I flinched back in fear.

"I said I don't love you just accept it, goddamn it!" He clenched his jaw.Kira came and stood beside him.

"Luke,you are not serious,right? How can you not love me anymore?" I asked as I sobbed.

"I don't love you.I love her! I love Kira and I have always loved her!" He said.

''What?" I whispered as I felt my heart fell apart in a billion pieces.I couldn't feel my heart anymore.I didn't even know how I was even tolerating all these.

"You do not deserve me!" He said.

"Why did I believe you when you said you loved me?" I whispered.

"Why did I love you?" I said and sobbed quietly as I looked at the cold floor.

"All those promises,all those memories...none of that ever mattered to you." I said as I looked into his cold,cruel eyes.

"I never mattered to you." I whispered.

"You promised you would love me no matter what!" I whispered in a soft tone.My whole world was falling apart right in front of my eyes.Was it this easy for some people to fall out of love?

"You don't deserve me,Lucia Browning!" He said.

"You killed my fiancé,you turned me against my family,you made me love you and you broke my heart! I betrayed my country for you,Luke Vernon! What did you do for me?!" I yelled with the uncontrollable tears.

"That night,when that man pointed his gun at you,I jumped over your body without caring about my life because my priority was to save you;when Walker sent his men to kill you,I ran in the rain just so I could save you;I told you Walker's plans;I exposed Alex's secrets for you;I sacrificed my entire life for you and what did you do,huh?" I said as I slapped my hands over his chest.

He looked at me in silence.No words,no emotions.Just a cold hearted man.

"Why did you do it?" I whispered as I leaned closer to him.My nose touched his.Our lips were an inch away from touching.

"Why,Luke?" I whispered as I placed my hand on his chest.

"Didn't you know how much I loved you?" I said in a cracky voice.I was unable to breathe properly.

I didn't know whether I was in a delusion as that moment but I swear I saw something in his eyes,an emotion.When he looked into my eyes,there was pain but I couldn't understand why.

"I wish I had poisoned you that night! I wished I let General Walker kill you,I wish I let that man kill you! I should've known that you were and will always be my enemy!" I yelled,"I don't deserve you? You are unworthy of me,you cruel, cold hearted man!" I screamed and slapped his face as hard as I could.My lungs were desperate for oxygen at that moment.My brain was collapsing.He silently accepted my slap and narrowed down his eyes.

''Why did you give me hope when all you were to do was to break me this hard?'' I asked as tears streamed down.

''Tell me please.Look into my eyes and tell me that you don't love me.'' I whispered.He didn't raise his head at all.

''Tell me something that will make me go away,Luke,I don't believe that you don't love me.'' I whispered as my head dropped to his chest.

I could hear his heartbeat and it broke me that for the rest of my life,I will have to sleep on a cold pillow rather than his chest.

''Forever.'' He whispered.I frowned at his reply but my heart tightened and whispered to him,''Meant to be.''

My chest was rapidly rising and falling.When I got the strength to finally face the reality,I took a deep breath and put my hand inside my bag.

I took out the box and opened it.I took the ring out of it and lifted it,in front of his face.His eyes widened in shock as he saw the ring,"Luke Vernon,you will regret." I whispered as I threw the ring on the ground.I turned around and walked out of that gate.I didn't turn around to see the man who just stood there without any regrets as my heart shattered into a million pieces.
