Taika’s pacing had started to even annoy Tala. Maverick had made a plan to get all the information from Sloane. He also decided to send more warriors to the pack. Alarick had offered a few as well. Tala knew it was more for them than their new pack. She could feel Taika’s pain rolling off him.
“Brother please sit down.”
Taika turned to her with a shiny pair of wolf eyes. “Tala, stop reading my emotions.”
Twins in the werewolf community were rare. They often had abilities that other wolves couldn’t have. It was also rare to be born of Alpha blood. Tala and Taika could feel each other’s emotions. This is why Dawn had been so special to them. She may be their new sister in law, but she felt emotions too. For the first time, they had someone who could understand.
*It is taking everything in me not to rip Tristan to pieces!*
“The run is in a few hours. I think you four may want to stay in. I can’t risk Taika near Tristan right now.”
Taika turned, “what? No!”
Dawn rests an arm on his shoulder, but was met with Violet’s growl. “Careful, I’m fully mated and it’s to his brother.”
Violet stands and leans at Taika’s side. “Sorry. Taika. I am okay now. It’s something we can’t change yet. If we don’t do this right, we could end up with Margo as stand in Alpha.”
Maverick smiles, “I already had planned on Sloane taking over that pack area.”
“My King are you sure?”
“Absolutely. You are a strong and thoughtful Alpha. Now you will only be stronger with the Full Moon Pack twins on your side. With them you gain the Royal Pack as an ally, even more.”
Our packs are all connected. With Tala and Taika joining the New Pack, they had made a solid alliance with the strongest packs. If they could pull Alpha Tristan out, it could also fix the huge Rogue problem coming from the pack. They all knew that each pack had a specialty and array of talents at their disposal. For the Full Moon Pack, they had Dawn and Marshal and the families that came with it. Now Alarick was stronger because of his bond.
“Alarick, brother, this is your first run as a mated wolf. I want to be there.”
Axelia looks up from Declan, “I agree with Alarick. Even if we all were on high alert, having you ready to kill an Alpha wouldn’t help us kill him the proper way. The council and Maverick have to agree on his sentencing. You have many council members the vote of multiple Alphas on your side. I imagine we may be able to get a Lord and an Angel on our side as well.”
Everyone stopped and looked at Axelia, “what do you mean a deity?”
Axelia smiled at Dawn, “well I personally know the Angel of Death.”
Declan looked to Maverick, who nodded, “this information cannot leave this room. Beta Loveta, do you know a binding spell to keep this to this group of people.”
She looked up in surprise, “yes. It will take a minute to setup.”
They nodded. “Thank you. Everyone will have to agree to the binding spell. It will keep us all bound to secrecy. If someone talks, we will all know.”
Everyone nodded. Loveta began drawing runes and her body began to glow with the same design. She was whispering under her breath. The magic swirled around the room and created a nice breeze. The spell ran through their bodies and wrapped around their hearts. It asked through the mouth. Loveta quickly was caught by Dawn and placed at her desk.
“Let’s begin.”
Declan walked into the center of the room. Everyone’s eyes landed to him. A power started to spread around him. His form began to change as dark tattoos flowed around his skin. His eyes went pitch black and a scythe appeared in his hand. He took a knee to steady himself. Axelia reached a hand out and he took it.
“You can touch death?” Tala mused.
Axelia wrapped an arm around Declan, “only because of our bond.”
Sloane pulled Tala closer, “but you are a wolf?”
“I am a direct result of the Moon Goddess herself.” His voice boomed and stretched through the room.
Dawn walked closer, but Alarick grabbed her arm. She looked in tranced. She had been using her full force to walk to him and Alarick was finding it hard to reign her in. Loveta grabbed at her shoulders. Blocking her view, she turned back snapping out of the trance.
“What the hell was that?”
Axelia looked up, “people who have died have a hard time being around him without letting their souls be taken.”
Dawn wrapped her arms around Alarick. “So any vampire even if we were born vampire?”
“No, you know why your soul has been claimed by death.” His voice felt like it was invading your mind. “Other vampires don’t have this reaction.”
Taika and Tala looked to each other. “Why can’t you just claim Tristan?”
“Because there is an order to death. If I provoke it in Death form, it could cause a butterfly affect. I’ve only done it a few times and the result wasn’t worth it trust me.”
Axelia rubs his hand, “We have also found out that unless I help him out of this for, now that we have mated, he will be stuck as Death.”
With that response, Axelia grabs onto Declan’s temples and whispers something. His tattoos slowly retreat as his form arches. It looked very painful. Axelia held Declan steady as he returned to his form.
“Amazing.” Dawn whispered.
“This coming from one of the oldest pure breeds in existence.” Maverick said matter of factory.
Sloane’s head popped up, “wait, I thought you were just an Empathic.”
Dawn shook her head. “I’m the daughter of the oldest vampire in known existence.”
They all shared more information that would help with the impending doom. If Tristan had an army of Rogues, at his disposal, he could be a real threat. If they played this right, he wouldn’t be able to call in back up. They hoped to have this settled with the council, by the time the gathering ended.
