“Hello Alpha Tristan and Luna Margo. It is a pleasure to meet you. I am Luna Dawn.”
The Luna looks to Alpha Tristan, “bold to call yourself Luna before your ceremony.”
Alarick’s dominance flowed off in waves. “That was uncalled for.”
Alpha Tristan waves a hand, “please she was only kidding Alpha Alarick. You take everything so seriously.”
“Well we have lunch reservations, but we have give you a place near my Beta. Darren here will lead you to your room to get settled in. I hope you enjoy your time here.”
Luna Margo turns to Alpha Tristan, “well who spit in their Cheerios.”
“Careful dear. Alpha Alarick is higher ranked. We will need to do bigger recon here before taking on someone like that.”
Dawn steps out the door and turns to Alarick. *You heard that correct?*
He nods, *if they are that stupid it may be easier than we thought.*
Taika and Tala were already seated at the local pack restaurant. They both were deep in conversation. Whatever it was about seemed very heated. Alarick looked to Dawn as they noticed. They knew it was probably about some type of mate issue.
“I’m just saying I don’t want one either, but rejecting right away.”
“Listen Tai, I just hate the thought of being without you or leaving here.”
Alarick sits down. “It would have to be someone pretty high up to pull you from the third highest rated pack. Especially since you are both of alpha blood.”
They look up, “that’s what we are afraid of.”
Their concerns were valid. Strong genes often were mated to strong genes. Alarick hated the thought of them stepping into a lower pack. They were his only family left outside Dawn. He knew that they would find their mates this weekend. He knew of a few Alphas and Betas that weren’t mated. He sighed thinking about them falling into those roles.
Taika was strong and confident, but Tala was more sincere and kind. They both had the makings of an Alpha though. They had showed up in many ways for the pack over the years. They had always been there for him as well. When their parents died, they had moved into the pack house. They took over Luna roles that his mother filled. They kept him eating and sleeping, when it became too hard under the pressure.
“Do you smell that?”
Dawn looked to Tala. “Which smell?”
Tala looked to the door, “it smells like Cinnamon, vanilla and cocoa. It’s so strong you don’t smell it?”
“Tal, that is your mate smell.” Alarick sighed.
She glanced at Taika, “what no not yet. It can’t be happening before the gathering actually started. What do I do?”
“What type of control do you have right now?” Dawn said placing her hand on Tala’s. “Your brother could fight it, why can’t you?”
“This is all up to you though, Tala.” Taika smiled. “I will always be here with you.”
Suddenly the door burst open. A man came storming in ignoring the host. He had long black hair back in pony tail and a light Asian skin tone. His dark eyes flashed to Tala. Alarick’s breath hitched. He knew what was about to happen. He had seen this person before. He had made eye contact directly to Tala. As he crossed the restaurant to their table, he grabbed her hand and sniffed it.
“Mate.”
Tala pulled her hand back, “what?”
Alarick arose, “Alpha Sloane, please sit down.”
“Oh shit.” Taika breathed deeply.
Tala wrapped her hand around his, “what is it Tai?”
Alpha Sloane growled, “why are you touching him?”
“Calm down Alpha Sloane. They are twins. Don’t make one of us hurt you to protect our family.” Dawn said calmly while her eyes glowed in warning.
“Alpha Sloane! You need to stop running off. We are supposed to make our way to the pack house first....Oh my goddess! Alpha Alarick, Luna and council woman Dawn. I apologize if Sloane had been rude in anyway.” A woman of strong build and light brunette hair pleaded.
“Who are you?” Taika whispered.
“Oh I am...” the young female looked up with her purple eyes. “Beta Violet. Your mate...”
“Well this is unexpected. Please Alpha Sloane and Beta Violet join our family for lunch. It seems it may be yours soon anyway.”
Alpha Sloane had always been a great ally to their pack. He lead the New Moon Pack a few hours west of here. He also happened to be located next to the Crescent Moon Pack. Alarick immediately contacted the pack house and switched their rooms closer to the Royal Pack’s, the Red Blood Moon Pack’s and his. His pack was known for medicinal research and the best werewolf hospital in the country. His pack had trained almost every higher up pack’s pack doctor. His pack was where the Royal Pack’s Luna came from.
“Beta Violet, we have made sure you will be housed in the pack house.”
She looks up quickly, “oh no sir, I could never. That space is for Alphas.”
“Alphas and family.” Alarick mused.
Dawn hadn’t taken her eyes off Sloane. “Alpha. You need to stop staring you are making Tala uncomfortable. She is already having a rough time with the mate ide...”
Sloane whimpered, “you don’t want a mate. You aren’t going to reject me are you?”
Tala looked at Taika, *Taika, what do I do? I can’t be a Luna.*
*Hey you will be great and I will be right there every step of the way. Be happy for once. You don’t always have to be the mom.*
“No.”
Sloane relaxed back with a smile. “Oh little mate! I can’t wait to get to know you.”
After lunch the group followed to the office to meet with Axelia, Declan and the Royal Pack. As they entered, the groups eyes flashed amongst one another. Dawn’s settled on the second strongest in the room. He wasn’t much older than Alarick. He had a similar aura to Axelia. He had the same skin tone and eye color, but his hair was a bright golden tone. His arm was around a petite woman that looked of Native American decent. Her deep brown hair had been neatly placed in pigtailed braids. Her demeanor seemed kind and like of healing quality.
“Alpha Sloane and Beta Violet, why are you here?” She spoke.
They both dropped to a knee, “Queen Luna Emilia! It has been long overdue. King Alpha Maverick it is an honor to be here.”
“Well let’s get down to business. For those who do not know, this is Alpha Maverick and Luna Emilia of the Royal Pack. They are Alpha Axelia and Delta Declan of the Red Blood Moon Pack.”
Veta, who had been there when they arrived stepped out, “I am Beta Loveta. You all know Alpha Alarick and Luna Dawn.”
“I am Beta Violet and this is Alpha Sloane from the New Moon Pack.”
Veta looks at the entrance, “Tala, Taika why are you in here?”
Tala looks up nervously, “well I followed..”
Alpha Sloane steps to her with a nod, “she is to be my Luna. Her brother is to become the Beta Alpha of the pack as well.”
Veta looks to Alarick, who was pouring him and Dawn a drink. He nods to her and motions everyone to find a seat. He notices his siblings unease when they sit down next to their mates. He makes a mental note to have another lunch soon with them.
“Well this works out better than we had hoped.” Maverick smiles. “Now we have the pack next door to help out.”
Sloane grunts, “you are finally going to get rid of that pathetic Alpha? I have been dealing with his backwash for years.”
Axelia turns to Sloane, “what do you mean?”
He leans and whispers to Tala, “you may want to close off your hearing, my love.”
“Alpha, are you sure?” Violet gives a look.
“Yes. I have been taking care of females who stumble into our pack. They have been used by some of the men in his pack or by him. I treat them and allow them to stay with us. The other part is the amount of rogues we have noticed crossing his border while on patrol. That proof alone can get his title taken away.”
Violet looks to Taika, “it only got worse when he had been intoxicated at the last gathering.”
Taika grabbed her hand that was shaking, “what happened?”
She shook her head, “nothing you want to hear.”
Taika’s growl was loud and possessive. Before anyone else could react, both Dawn and Alarick had him against the back wall. They had moved so fast that everyone, including Maverick, were stunned.
“Calm down. You can’t just attack an Alpha.” Dawn whispered. “Taika, we have your back you know this.”
Alarick leaned in. “I will make sure it will be at your discretion, when this bastard dies.”
Emilia knelt down in front of Violet, “do you have a way to catch him.”
Violet met her gaze, “we aren’t the best medical pack for nothing.”
