Brayden's Day

640 Words
The last few weeks have flown by. Between school, basketball, homework, and texting Savannah Grace constantly, I'm honestly not sure how I've been able to fit sleep into my schedule. Seeing her every day has definitely been the highlight of my days. By now, we pretty much text every day. We had another steamy kissing session in the hallway of the Audio Production studio out of the way of prying eyes. It was just as good as the first kiss only this one lasted much longer. I see her walk into the studio and go over to greet her. "Hey! So I know we said we were going to hang out but haven't really had the chance to, what do you think about coming over to my house this weekend for dinner? After dinner we can go upstairs and hang out?". This was one of the rare occasions that both my parents are home. It doesn't happen very often but when it does, my mom always wants to have a family dinner. "If your mom can bring you over, my mom said she can take you home". How lame. I can't wait until I get my license so I don't have to always ask my mom for rides. Only 4 more months until I'm 16 then I can drive her around. "Sure, that sounds great, I'll ask my mom but I don't think she would have a problem with that." I reply as we walk over to Jackson's group to see what they are up to. One thing I really like about this class, aside from seeing Savannah Grace every day, is that it is very hands on and we kind of get free reign to do what we want as long as our projects are done. Today is no exception. Savannah Grace, Jackson, and I joke around for the rest of the 2 periods while working on our stuff. I love that the three of us can get along so well and it's not awkward. It's like we all just fit together. After school, I head to the gym for basketball practice. I didn't end up getting the captain's spot on the JV team. I was really bummed out at first but I think it ended up being a good thing. Even though I know I shouldn't choose a girl over basketball, Savannah Grace is special and I really want to spend more time with her. I would have less free time if I had became captain, too many responsibilities. I just can't let my game slip and I should be fine. "Hey man!" Mitch called to me. Even though he had moved up to Varsity, I see him around at practices sometimes. "Hey, what's up?" I ask as he closes the gap between us. "Some of the team is headed up to my parent's cabin for a party this weekend, it's gonna be so awesome, you should come." I know all about these parties, I've even attended a few. Girls, booze, drugs, the whole nine yards. It wasn't just basketball players at these parties, it was basically a free for all. I'll admit, the few that I've gone to have been pretty fun but I don't like the way I wake up feeling the next morning. One of the perks to my parents being out of town a lot, they never knew when I stay out all night. "Sorry man, I have plans this weekend. Catch ya next time?" "Sure, we're gonna miss you!" Somehow I doubt that. A few drinks in and they probably won't even remember I'm not there. I head to the locker room to get changed and ready for warm-ups not feeling one bit badly about missing another party. I would take hanging out with Savannah Grace over one of Mitch's parties any day.
