Regrets Part I

Savannah Grace The first week

The first week of high school was a success! I made a bunch of friends and I don't think my classes will be all that hard. I've already exchanged phone numbers with a bunch of the girls. I think we all may try to get together for a movie this weekend.

"Hi honey!" my mom says as I climb into the car after my last period on Friday afternoon, "how was your day?" She always asks me this and my answer is always the same.

"It was fine mom"

"Still hanging out with those girls?"

"Yeah, I think we are all going to get together for a movie this weekend"

"Oh! Sounds fun! What about boys? Any cute ones?"

"MOM!" I protested "I'm just trying to get through my freshman year, boys just get in the way!"

"Good girl" my mom replies with a smile.

I walk in the door and our poodle Shasta comes to greet me.

"Good boy!" I say as I scratch behind his ears then head upstairs. A few minutes later, our house phone rings. I grab it.

"Hello?" I say into the speaker

"Savannah Grace!" It was Mary on the other end, "Let's talk about this weekend, I'm so excited!" One thing about Mary, she LOVES to talk! Sometimes I can barely get a word in which is the case this afternoon as usual. "So I heard 'She's The One' was just released in theaters, we could go see that. Or 'The Fan', 'The Spitfire Grill', what do you think? I kind of think 'She's The One' would be great, so girlie, I don't get to see those types of movies a lot. I talked to my mom and she said that she would drive us if we wanted to meet at my house." She goes on. And on and on... I just listen on the other end. This is why we are friends, she does all the talking and all I have to do is smile and nod.

Saturday comes, we've all finally decided on a movie. We (more like Mary) decided we would all dress up and make it a whole thing. The movie starts at 6 so we all meet at her house around 3. The plan is to get dinner and coffee before the movie and maybe walk around the mall a little. I get there a little before 3 and to my surprise Amelia, Christine, Jasmine, Rachel, and Micaela are already there with Mary. This should be a fun night.

We go to dinner and gossip about everything Evermore. Christine and Amelia are more the studious type and Micaela has had a boyfriend for over a year but Mary goes on about some of the cute boys that are in her class. She's boy crazy and simply just crazy but I love her! After we heard all about every cute boy in every single one of her classes, it's finally time to head to the theater. Finally, a little peace and quiet!

We find a empty row with enough open seats for all of us. Popcorn in hand, we slide into the row and wait for the movie to start. Mary was giving us the synopsis while we wait. It actually sounds like it's going to be a decent movie.

10pm and I am finally home and in bed, It was a fun night but exhausting. I really like all the girls but Mary can sometimes be a lot with her constant cheerfulness and excitement. I fall asleep with a smile on my face, I may not be a typical 'popular girl' but I sure have made some awesome friends so far. I have a a feeling these girls are going to be around for a long time.
