Regrets Part I

Brayden - End of the Year

The days are finally warming up. Basketball season has come to and end and now it's just trying to get through the rest of the year before summer. Hopefully I'll get to hang out with my girlfriend (I still can't believe she's actually my girlfriend, I just love calling her that) some over the summer but I know we both have some summer plans so it won't be a lot. Since the dinner at my parents house, I've gotten my license so it's a little easier for us to see each other. We've had some more hot make out sessions but it's never gone further than that. I don't want her to think that's all I'm interested in her for. Jackson was pretty psyched when I told him that we were finally official. All this is running through my mind as I walk into Evermore High, the last couple weeks of school before freedom. As usual, I head straight to Savannah Grace's locker to walk to homeroom with her since we both have the same one.

"Good morning" I say as she's standing there switching her books out for her next few classes.

"Hey! She says as she closes her locker and looks up at me. I take my baseball hat off and lean down and give her a kiss.

"You know, I don't think that will ever get old" she says with a smile on her face.

"Ready for homeroom?" I say as she puts her hand in mine.

"Let's go!"

After school, Savannah Grace and I are saying our goodbyes, "Are you free this weekend? Want to hang out and do something?" She asks me.

"I can't this weekend, I'm heading to Mitch's family cabin, some of the guys from the basketball team are heading over there for the weekend. I haven't been the last few times they invited me so I think i kind of owe them". She knew all about the parties but that wasn't really her scene.

"Ok, are your parents out of town?"

"Aren't they always?" I say with a laugh.

"Don't get into any trouble while you're up there. I'll see you at school tomorrow" she says.

"I'll try not to" I give her a wink, "See you tomorrow". Normally I would give her a ride home but she has a hair appointment with her mom this afternoon so she's picking her up. I give her a kiss as I head out to the parking lot towards my car and she stands in the carpool line waiting for her mom.

On my way to my car, I run into Mitch.

"Hey, you're still coming this weekend, right?"

"Sure am!" I reply.

"Ok, I just wanted to make sure that girlfriend of yours is going to let you go this time."

I laugh and say, "I told you I'd be there and I will. I love spending time with her but missing one weekend isn't going to kill us, she'll be fine."

"Bring Jackson if you want"

"I'll ask him, not really sure that it's his scene though."

"No problem, the more the merrier. See you then".

"Great" I respond as I unlock my car and step in.

The rest of the week goes by the same as usual. Savannah Grace and I have gotten into a comfortable routine, we see each other every day at school with multiple classes together and text in the evenings. We hang out when we can but it's hard with homework and friends. I do enjoy spending time with her, I just didn't realize how hard it would be to balance everything!
