Kapitulo 12 The plane landed in Aklan, I focus my attention on Dazron and his wife and child. They were like a happy family. In a passionate gesture, Dazron pinched his wife's cheek. She then kissed him. I looked away. But actually, I'm happy for him because he's found the happiness he's been searching for so many years. I walked straight to the hallway until I saw a taxi. I asked the man, and he told me the route to the beach. When we stopped at the beach, he helped me with my things. I hold the holdall and hand him the fare. I smiled at him. "Thanks." "Walang anuman po," he replied. "Basta po, 'wag na po kayong sad. We're here to be happy—to execute our purpose in life. " I nodded, smiling. "Thanks again." I walked out of the cab. I don't want to have a drama, it's too much for me, as I've already felt. Cyrex, on the other hand, was a lump in my brain. I feel like it was the most painful moment when I was with him. I shook the thoughts in my mind. I'm here to relax and take my vacation for a couple of weeks, just to ease the situation. "Welcome to Boracay," the woman in her twenties said, and put a garland on my neck. I smiled at her and some of her peers were making noise with the drum. Someone was escorting me to the hotel when a boy nudged my arm. I stopped walking. I turned round and looked at the boy; he was wearing a white shirt that was now covered in mud, while his face was smeared with grease. But that wouldn't change the fact that he was cute, especially his eyes – his natural blue-gray eyes. I wouldn't doubt it if he had foreign blood. I greeted him. "Hello." He smiled at me. "Bili po kayo, miss beautiful," he said, wobbling the wooden necklace in his hand. "Mura na lang po ito. Para po sa kapatid ko." I swatted, detaching my glass. I focused on his eyes and he caught mine. I ran my hand through his hair, and he just stared at me. "How much of them all?" His brow crinkled. "Po? H-hindi po ako marunong mag-ingles. " I stooped, embarrassed. I peeped at him again and he was still looking at my eyes. "M-magkano lahat?" I despise using my second language because I used to stutter for some reason. "L-lahat?" His voice was stressed in horror, while his face was cold in shock. "B-bibilhin n'yo po... lahat ito?" I nodded. I want to help the boy. He needed the money for his sister, and I know that by doing an act like this, it would help him out to save money for his sister's recovery. "T-talaga miss beautiful?" he asked, and I nodded. "Sige po, bale hintay lang po muna kayo, ha..." I smiled at him. I watched him run to the pathway. I like a man who will do everything for his family. Until one more minute passed, he came into view and scurried back to me. "Miss beautiful," he said, panting from his adrenaline. "Bale isang... libo at dalawang daan po." I thumped my head. I snatch my wallet and took the money in my hand. I handed it to the boy, and he's confused as to why I'm giving him more than he asked for. Such a cute boy, I liked the way his upturned lips pursed, rumoring a word in his brain at the thought of the money I was giving him. "Naku miss..." he was about to form a word when I slid the money into his hand. "H-hindi ko po... matatanggap ito. Ang laking halaga po nito." I shook my head, smiling. "No, it was for you. For your sister." He nodded. "Salamat po nang marami. Pangako po, kung sakali mang magkita tayo ay ibabalik ko rin po ito sa inyo." I juddered my head. "No need. I'm happy to help. " He smiled widely. "Salamat po talaga nang marami, miss beautiful." I messed up his hair before pulling myself up and walking into the building. At the front of the information deck, I saw the woman I had loathed for almost a year. She was not beyond my expectations. I thought she was good, but my thoughts were nothing to be true. "Look who's here..." she said, and I raised my eyebrow, taking off my glass in hand. I breathed. "I want to check-in..." "No available rooms for you," she retorted, and busied herself by staring at the log book. I took my phone in my hand. Opening the screen, I dialed Luina, and it consumed more than two beats before she spat on it. I take it that she's busy today. Or should I take off from this place and try another one that would treat me accordingly? "Luina. Hey!" I began. "Fereine, how's it going?" she said as I glanced at her. She raised the corner of her lips. I flicked my tongue. "Can I not get to your place?" "Who said that?" she asked. I looked at her. "Your hotel manager had told me that no rooms were available for me. Is this true? " "Of course not," she said, almost alarmed. "Who's the brave manager that said that to you?" "It's not important. What I want to know is, can I not get to your place?" I said, as if I was begging. "No! Get in my place," she said with a thrilled voice. I smirked, watching the lady in front of me. "My friend told me to reserve a room for me. Sorry for the inconvenience." "I said there's no—" Someone cuts her off. "Let her." I overheard their conversation while pressing her hand against the lady's arm. Jenner stared at me, sighing. "Fine. You can check-in here." "I want the V.I.P., sorry..." I flipped my hair and put my glasses on. "Hurry the food." "She's getting on my nerves." I smirked while strolling through the hall. The man navigated my room until we stopped at the grandeur, white-black motif, with a high-countenance interior. I gave him a look, and he nodded, and walked through the hall with his hands in his trousers pockets. "Home..." is all I could say and I closed the door with my hand. I removed the glass in abeyance of the object that stood out among the rest. What is that? I went in the direction of the item, and I noticed that it was a pile of papers. It's clipped with a clipper and almost covered in dust. I took a deep and relaxing breath before getting my phone when it rang. I answered the call. It's Luina again. Bummer. "How's it now? Did you get the V.I.P? "she asked earnestly. "Yep, all thanks to you," I jested. "What's the matter with the woman?" She grumbled. "I hate her." I settled on the bedside. "That was Jenner, my former co-mate. She's still mad at me right now. I don't know what to do with her. She's sunken in anger. " "There's nothing to worry about as long as you don't harm people," she said, as if lecturing me. "By the way, we are heading to the Philippines next month." "Why?" I pulled myself up and walked into the table. "For what?" I inspect the books. Luina really loves books, doesn't she? There's classic that's mixed with modern and independent artists. Self-pub may be considered. "Just to enjoy the beaches," she chortled in her own words. "Ghaston said there are a lot of tourists on vacation out there." "Yeah. Sort of, " I agreed. I leaf the page with my finger. I read some of the passages and they hurt my heart. Are we really that hard on each other? I mean, Cyrex was dark and confusing. I'm puzzled by every ounce of his body. He's like hiding some enormous thing that I want to see. "Hey! Wait, I'm going to hang up the call. Ghaston is here," she said, almost in a whisper. I shook my head, smiling. I bid my goodbye and she hung up the call. Scooting my sight back to the book, I couldn't believe what I'd read on the first page that struck me. "Cornering the shadow, believing the narrow. Believe the annoyance as guilt of disturbance?" The shadow? Yes, he's been my shadow since then. Believing the narrow? Wait, what does it mean by that? I flipped the page afresh to see the last part. Believe the annoyance? Yes, I believe there are nuisances in every instance. As for the guilt of disturbance. Why are these words so hard to decipher? I turned back the page. I look up at the other book. There are a lot of books piled up in distinction. I have tried to lift the five-inch paper when the door makes noise. It knocks twice. I went to the door and opened it. The man who chauffeured me here is holding a tray in his hands. I suspect the note was behind the bowl, and allowed him to get inside. Maybe he is fond of putting notes on the tray. I looked at his back. Muscular and prim. "We have here fish fillets and steak that your friend favored. And a drink," he gestured the wine, and turned to me. "Anything you ask for?" I shook my head. He pulled up and walked straight to the door until he stopped and looked over his shoulder. "Have a pleasant evening," he said, and stormed out of the room. I just stared at the knob for a second and stepped back to the table. He's right; there's a fish fillet. I don't know how they even put this on the list. I viewed that Luina asked these foods for me. I rested my back on the backrest of the chair. I started eating the course until I finished the first food that was placed on the table. I wiped the corner of my lips with the kerchief as I blobbed my fingers and crossed my feet behind the chair. I'm staring at the food, debating with myself whether I should eat it or not. "Luina," I began after I kept the left over there. "Why did you add steak to my meal? God, you know I hate cows." "I'm sorry." I heard her laugh at my words. "Didn't mean it. I swear it was Ghaston's... get out of my bed. Ghaston. " She's screaming like a lion. tingled by the man she's now with. It's okay with me if they'd be together, as long as they'd commit and focus on the arrangement. "Call you later. Ghaston!" she screamed in a tremble, resigned to his every touch. I hung up the call. I tossed it on the bed. Pulling myself up, I walked out of the room. Walking down the hallway, I heard some footsteps behind me. Don't mind it. My mind told me to, and I obliged. I kept on walking until I reached the exit. It's windy today. I glanced up at the sky. The sun chose not to appear. I suspected that it would rain today. I trailed the sand as my feet touched its finest. But it was a horror for me when a hand rolled down my waist. "Shh..." That voice. A smooth, slender hand cupped my jaw as the soft thing pressed my neck. This gesture. "Cyrex?" I said and turned round. It was him. I wasn't wrong. "W-what are you doing here?" He crinkled his nose. "Darling, have you forgotten that this is a public place?" "Of course, I know that it's public. But what I didn't know is that you were here when I..." I cut the word when his gaze became intense. "You were always hardwired to accuse me," he said, smirking. He was tracing his finger around the rim of my earlobe. "But don't worry, I don't mind that. Because I haven't thought of f*****g you yet. " "How dare you!" I almost yelled, and he grinned devilishly. "I know, darling." He placed my locks in the corner of my earlobe. "I f*****g want you. You. Alone..." "Why are you doing this?" I said, almost in a whisper, when he tucked my hair. "I'm doing this for myself. Because you don't want me to include you," he said sarcastically. "Besides, after I f****d you, there would be rumors of pain—" I slapped his face. "You cannot do that to me! I'm warning you. I... me... I-I would not allow you to touch me. "What if I would?" "Then I'll make you suffer." "Suffer from what?" he asked, beyond confused. But still managed to smirk. I took a few steps towards him just to level his nose. He's watching my eyes, down to my nose, and back to my eyes. I c****d my head to see him properly. A six-footer like him was hard to see. "Suffer from wanting me," I said bravely. But deep inside, my heart is melting at the thought of him sexing me. He cleared his throat. His adams apple motioned when his throat waved for a moment. I don't want this man. I want the Cyrex I used to have before—the Cyrex who used to like me even more—but it's hard to get back to the past when, in fact, it could be done uglier. He chuckled. "Suffer from what? From you? Why would I, darling?" "Because I knew you wanted me every second of your life," I said cockily. "I would not—" interrupted by someone. "Babe." I looked at the girl. She has olive skin and elegance. Cyrex remained where he was. I felt sad for the girl because I knew he'd just used her to forget me. He must have, because I would not entertain him. It's enough to hear from him that he just wants my body. "B-babe," he said shakily, and looked at me. The girl cuddled his arm and kissed him on the cheek. I raised my chin. "Thank you, Mr. Resere. I'm done with the arrangement. " He was about to speak when I turned round and scuttled down the beach. It's better to cut the feelings I have for him. He's not worth my time. He would never be worth it to me. Later that morning, I joined the men who were dancing in the crowd. Partying isn't my thing, but I have to forget him just for this night. The man looked up at me, but when he was about to lean in and kiss me, I slapped him. The girls jeered him after the dismissal, as I have shown. I've been using all of my vulnerability for so many years, and it's time to fight for what's best for me. It's best for my sanity. I stopped at the door. I hate partying and I didn't even know what to think. I even joined them. I closed the door and removed my sandals. I looked at myself in the mirror. I was looking at the lady who was wearing a dark blue halter dress. Her skin was smeared with his scum. I sighed and propped myself up in bed. I will forget you, Cyrex. I don't know when, but I'd do everything to forget you. I swear to God that I'd never allow you to touch me again. Not by chance.
