Kapitulo 7
I didn't look back. I know who it is and it's been a lot for me. The door close and someone sits next to me. I wipe my eyes with the tissue as he holds my hand and caress my jaw. I look at him. Why does he look so sad? I turn round and face him. I extend my hand to his face and he kisses the tip of my knuckles.
God, what is he doing? What is this feeling he's giving me? He frowns and kisses my hand. I close my eyes and caress his chin to tilt up.
"A-are you okay?" he asks, avoiding my sight, as if he didn't want to look at me.
I smile. What did you do to me, huh? What is this freaking warm feeling?
I nod. "I-I'm fine..."
He caresses my face, staring at me. "Whoever puts something on the stage cannot outsmart this arena."
I shake my head, brushing his face. "Cyrex, no... please let them."
He sighs and looks at me firmly. "After what they did to you, do you still choose to forgive them?"
I breath. "You don't understand me. I don't want to make commotion here. I'm here to enjoy and present my city."
He exhales, shaking his head. I purse my lips as he looks at me again. His eyes were dark and looming. He breaths and grabs my head and hugs me.
"Bakit ba ang bait mo?" he asks and I didn't reply. "You should sue the person behind that f*****g scandal."
I didn't reply. He pulls himself off me and rubs my face with his backhand.
"If you can't sue them, let me figure out who the hell are they..." His voice is sunken as I shake my head. "Darling, hindi naman puwedeng palalampasin mo na lang 'to. They put you into chagrin, don't you know that?"
I sigh, brushing his hair. "Let them. I will not sue them. Just let them degrade their dignity as a person."
"Hay naku... ewan ko na lang talaga sa 'yo," and he then pouts, smirking. "Why're you smirking?"
I hold my lips. His brows meet.
"Darling, you look like a child," I mock, and he gave me a vexing smile. "What is that?"
"What's what?" he asks unhurriedly, busy fixing my hair. "Does your leg hurt?"
I want to shake my head, but I was just lying. I nod, gently. He swats and inspected my leg as if he knew how to fix it. And he then settles down in his chair, and lifted me to sit on his lap. I am aware that I am only wearing a bikini. And he is fully packed; trousers, blazers, and even a tie around his neck.
"You should rest for a while," he murmurs as my head rest on his chest. "Pai-imbestigahan ko 'yong nangyari..."
"No need," I say hurriedly.
He sighs, annoyingly. "Fine, fine. Ang kulit ng babaeng 'to. It's for your own good."
"For my own good, your d**k!" I tease him, and he smirks.
He presses his lips on my head. "Rest for a while, my darling."
I nod, gently closing my eyes. But I was about to dismiss them completely when he utters a phrase. I become alive again.
"By the way, I didn't see your gown," he says, rubbing my arm. "Can I see it?"
I didn't reply. He looks down to me and waits for my answer. I shrug and he blows a breath and place my head back on his chest. Pressing his lips on my head, he cuddles my waist and I didn't know if he was sleeping now or not.
"Cy..." I utter but he didn't reply.
I look up at him and I saw his eyes closed, lips clipped, and he looks so happy and content. I study his face. If I could just like him back, why not? But I can't dictate my feelings. It's inevitable.
"Cy..." I call him, and he moves a little, and looks at me. "Sleep on the stretcher."
He shakes his head. "I'm fine. Just rest, darling. You're gonna show your gown later. You need the strength."
I stare at him. He gestures with his eyebrows and I shake my head. He breathes and put my head back to his chest.
I didn't close my eyes. His hand envelops my body and I could even feel his warm breath on my behind. I clear my throat and force my eyes to close at my command. And they obeyed.
Someone tap on my shoulder, and I blink open my eyes. "Fereine."
I saw Miss Pangasinan with her dark blue gown. I cast my gaze around. Where the hell is he? Miss Pangasinan look at me and I just gave her a smile.
I prop myself up. "I'm gonna dress up."
She smiles, slightly. "Good luck."
I gave her a lime smile and head to the dressing room. My heart is beating fast. What is this feeling? Why am I searching for him? You can't like that man, Fereine. I'm hoping for an answer by next week, and maybe it will not respond in a flash, but it will answer me soon.
But I remember the moment he places my head on his chest, presses his lips on my head, and cuddles me as tight as he can do. I shake my head. No, you're just overthinking, Fereine. It's just a dream. It's just a fantasy that would never happen anymore.
"Goila, nakita mo ba si Fereine?" Someone's voice made me stunned.
My manager.
"Fereine," he calls me, and I turn around. "Where the hell were you? Malapit nang magsimula ang next portion, tapos naka ganiyan ka pa?"
I stoop, barely. "S-sorry..."
"Get dressed," he says with a thud. "Then go ahead and do it again so that the sequence doesn't get messed up."
I nod. I head to the dressing room and wear my gown. I look in the mirror and see the bounced image of a woman wearing a dress. It's a long, wide, high-halter sheath dress with the back cut out and draping off the shoulder lines of beading. Adorned with glistening beadwork and finished with a sweep train.
I pose to the side and twist my hair with my hand, looking at my back. It look like it might be small, but it's really long, glamorous, and shimmering.
"Alas! You're killing the game," my manager remarks, smiling.
I step with one foot and stop with the other foot. "How is it?"
He claps frantically. "Wonderful."
I smile, slightly.
"O, siya. You can go to the stage. Naghihintay na sila roon," he says, and I nod.
I stride as fast as I could, wearing my five-inch platform shoes. I knew this will never be easy. I want to see him, but I do not even know the reason why. When I was on stage, I saw Cyrex looks drowsy, his hind hands steepled, and he glances at his watch quickly. Damn.
"O, nandito na pala si Fereine," Miss Ilo-Ilo say, and I smile at them.
"Miss Makati, line up please," the staff told me, and I follow the order.
I queue on the side of Miss Ilo-Ilo. She is so charming. She always smiles at me every time we had a chance to meet. When the music turn on, the host came into view as Cyrex inspecting at something on his chest.
"I'm fine. Just rest, darling."
It calls back to my brain. Why did I even think of him this way? I shake my head in confusion. No, you're being too delusional again, Fereine. It's just a dream.
"You make it look like it's magic."
The host starts to call. "General Santos City," and she walks as elegantly as she could.
Her gown look like royalty. A silver gown with stones on the beads have caught my sight. The man called Miss Pangasinan, and she walks as if like she is owning the stage.
"So I love when you call unexpected
'Cause I hate when the moment's expected"
"Makati," he announces.
Cyrex's sight focuses on me. He bobs his head, his hands clips. I use eye contact, and his lips lifts into a smile, and I reply him by looking at the camera. He winks at me quickly.
My hand glides up from my hank to my waist, emphasizing the texture of my dress as he licks his lips, slowly. I turn as delicate as I can give to the judges, swaying my hips a little flick to produce an impact to them.
"'Cause girl, you're perfect.
You're always worth it. "
I walk off the stage and these girls next to me form a line, preparing for a cue to walk back on stage. I walk on the side, just a few meters from them, and grab my phone in my hand and dial Ghad's cell.
"Cuz, damn it!" His voice is full of glee. "Was that the dress?"
I giggle. "Yeah..."
"Goodness, ang ganda!" he says with a flattering remark.
I bit my lip. "Thanks. By the way, do you have any update on Sheram's condition?"
"I haven't called him yet. Wait..." he says and hung up the call.
I put my phone into the bag. And when I try to stride, someone grab my arm and his eyes fixes on me. His lip lifts; his eyes were in a perfect joy; his aura made me shudder inside.
"Now tell me that I would not give you the spot..." he smirks, and he then lifts me to sit on his lap. "Darling, kahit ano pa mang sabihin mo, you're still the only woman I vowed to marry."
I wince. "Here we go again. Since when did I tell you about this? It's not my thing."
"I'll wait..." he whispers, kissing my chin. "Darling, I'm willing to wait."
I cup his face, staring at him. "Why did you leave them? You're one of the judges."
"f**k that being one of the juries!" he yells, nudging my face with the tip of his nose. "Cyrex wanted to be with her darling."
I roll my eyes. "Whatever, darling."
I rub his face. It's not that smooth unlike Ghad, but you can see that he is different.
He smirks. "We're still good, aren't we?"
I don't know, darling.
I sigh. "I told you we're over."
"Say that into my eyes." His lip quirks into a smirk. "Say it. Without hesitation."
I wince. What should I do to make this man stop? None. He's unstoppable.
"We're over..." I say, and he laughs.
Damn! So manly. Even the way he laughs caught me off guard. His triceps strains with a coat. What can I say about him? Womanizer? Nope. He isn't obsessed with anybody but me.
"If I'd call Dazron and test you. He would have laugh at you, probably," he says cockily.
Ah! When can this man lost? Am I ready to lose him? Of course, we're not official. He's just dayreaming that we're still together.
He looks at me, seriously. The point of his nose nudges at my lips and he stares at them with a fierce look. What I like about him is that he knew how to manage his emotions. A total mood swinger.
He caresses my hair. "By the by, I love your gown."
"Thanks," I say calmly.
He tilts my chin up. "But I do love your lips more. Can I grab one?"
I am aware that my comrades will see us soon. I sigh and look up at him and press his lips. He holds my nape as he shoves mouth onto mine. And he the slowly pulls himself up and looks at me, solemnly.
"I'll never stop. Even raging. Raging love will conspire." He plants a kiss on my lower lip, barely biting the skin. "Even rough will follow..."
I just stare at him. He caresses my face and levels his brow to mine. He closes his eyes, kissing my brow with his lips. I close my eyes and felt the foreign warmth that I felt a while ago.
"Cyrex..." I call him.
He brings back his sight to me. His eyes are full of glee. I remember on our first date, Dazron was there, always taunting his brother. After that we get along with each other until we became intimate, but when I cut off our connection, he neglects it. So passionate.
"Fereine..." he calls me.
"Do you love me?" What did I just say? What on earth is that question?
His eyes become serious. His lip clips and he stares at me, rubbing my face, gently pressing my lips. With these gestures, I cannot assure that I will not give in, but I'm praying that it would stop until he realizes that we are not good for each other.
Aren't we good for each other?
"Fereine..." he says almost in a whisper and as I am about to speak, someone interrupts.
"Cuz."
It's Ghad's voice.
Cyrex closes his eyes quickly. I stand up and reach for Ghad until he grabs me for a hug. Why did they missed this man? I still can't believe someone have hurt this kind of man. This stunning man.
"How's Sheram?" I ask and he smiles.
"He's okay, for now," he says and I nod. He glances on my behind, and back at me. "Are you two together again?"
I shake my head. "No. He's just here to check on me—to see if I'm okay. But we're just civil."
Yes, indeed, civil. He even gave you the foreign energy that convulses your veins. So civil. My subconscious sarcastically say.
He glances at him, and back to me. "I'm not convince, by the fact that I have seen you two dating before."
"We're ov—" someone interrupts.
"We're good now," Cyrex says, grabs my waist, and look at him. "Perhaps, she's still mad at me for what happened. But I can't blame her. She's thought that I'm poor. I fooled her and that won't happen again."
Ghad smirks. "Why did you even do that"
"Do what?" Cyrex asks.
"Acting like you're broke when you own a cruise line. So, poor tactics, bro," he jokes.
Cyrex eyes him firmly. "It's not a poor. She's even convinced that I'm really broke, but I've no bad intention towards that."
"Not a bad intention, huh?" I laugh and look at him. "Pretending to be in a state where you do not belong is considered as lying. How can I trust you if you lied to me in the first place?"
He sighs, smirking. "It's just white lies. I lied because you wouldn't entertain me if I tell you my true indentity."
I roll my eyes. "Still you lie."
He breathes. And I laugh. Ghad shakes his head, and Cyrex's mouth clips in defeat.
