"What is your wish, Astrid Arabella Sol?"
These seven words that kept on repeating inside of Astrid's head made her eyes grow wide. But setting those aside, she kept on thinking why... Why does this man keep on calling her 'Sol' when she's not.
"Why are you calling me a 'Sol' when I already told you countless times that I am not?" Astrid asked frustratingly.
She has no energy to argue with this man but it makes her so frustrated. She knows that she has similarities with the royal family, but she knows that she is a Luce and not a Sol.
Right?
And this man is calling her that for the nth time already and it irritates her.
She is Luce! And not a Sol!
Right?!
'If so... then why?!'
She started to scream inside her head and weep. She is wondering why she is here despite doing no sins in her life. She is wondering why her fate seems to have been messed up that it included her innocent unborn child. She is wondering why they betrayed her. She is wondering what she did to deserve such treatment. She is wondering why this man in front of her is insisting that she is a Sol when clearly, she was not. She is wondering... if he is telling the truth...
Then did she live a life full of lies?
Her mom. Her family. Their smiles. The happiness and memories.
Are they all lies?
Astrid cannot help but to think that if Blake is indeed the king in this place, there is no reason for him to lie, right? But there are also chances that he is fooling her to do his biddings. But...
'Why can't I feel any lies from him?'
Blake on the other hand is watching her intently. It's as if everything around them turned to blur then he can only see her. But as he realized it, he chose to shake it off and then started to show what he had seen after her death.
"It is better for you to watch this first before I start to explain everything to you, the lost lamb." He said as he gave the hand mirror he previously held to the confused lady.
Astrid, who is watching the scenes unfold in front of her, starts to tremble. And as the three Sol's appeared, her tears suddenly flowed down from her eyes onto her natural rosy cheeks.
"What? I... I am their... sister?!" She questioned Blake shakily.
"To tell you this before you doubt the truthfulness of what you are seeing, it's indeed the truth. The scenes you are looking at right now are when you just died and the time the three unfortunately arrived late after an elder of the Luce family confessed everything to them according to your foster mother's last will." Blake explained while Astrid is watching him and listening to him fully.
Althea Eleanor Luce was the duchess of the Sun Dragon Empire. She is one of the well-known figureheads of the empire and the best friend of the deceased empress Esme Irina Sol and emperor Edward Shriya Sol. She is actually second to the most beautiful woman in their generation to the point that there are suitors all over the empire and other kingdoms alike. It bothered her along with her other two friends. Unfortunately for her, they are married to each other due to them being so in love with one another. Leaving the poor duchess alone with no shield to protect her from these bothering bunch. That's until, the first princess was almost born.
The arrival of the eldest princess is something everyone really looked forward to. But since her birth, no one outside the family and the duchess ever saw her face. Rumors say that she has a weak body that made her be confined inside her bedroom all day. Some say that the family is too much of a lovestruck for her that made them keep her hidden for so long.
But some say that she is extremely sick and on the verge of dying.
People kept waiting. But now that the actual princess is beside this certain demon, no one... no one will ever see her.
Ever.
Blake watched Astrid. He knows that her mind is now in shambles after all the things she just learned after her murder and loss of her unborn child. He pities her. But he also knows she doesn't need it. What she needs is to just utter her wish. Her wish that he wants and so eager for him to grant.
"To think that my birth is so messed up to the point that I believed it... and learned about it way too late..." She sighed.
She is frustrated. She is angry.
But not to her biological and foster parents. But to herself who believed it and only saw that life is nothing but flowers and rainbows— which is so naïve for her side.
It's just that... she wants to wish for her and her child to converse if possible. However, she also wants to experience the warmth and experience of being with her biological family.
She is conflicted.
She wants the two but she knows that wishes are bound to be given once. And she needed to choose one.
"By the way, why are you acting like a genie that will grant wishes or even a fairy godmother that will also do the same thing? Why do you seem so eager to know my wish?" She finally asked.
Blake sighed and then looked her in the eye.
"Demon kings such as myself and my predecessors are actually a good friend of your ancestor— the Sun Dragon. And to honor it, and also pay the eternal debt we have for the dragon, we are bound to welcome any souls of every Sol descendants no matter where their destination is after death. And we are responsible to give them a chance to make a wish. A wish we are in need to grant." Blake explained seriously.
Astrid blinked her eyes. Once. Twice. Thrice. She kept on blinking while still absorbing every information she gained from the man in front of her. She doesn't know whether to believe it or not. Because for her, it's like something only fantasy stories can hear.
Is it true or this demon is making it up?
But she can't seem to find any lies from his statements, once again.
She is both conflicted for her wish and now... to believe such nonsense being thrown at her.
But, the tale of dragons can be also said to be nothing but a myth, right? And she is also in front of a demon. So... where is the nonsense of it all?
"I..."
But at that moment, everything flashed before her eyes once again. The betrayal. The lies. Everything that falsifies everything she believed. Though, the Luce family are exempt from it. But to love a man that you thought will be with you along the way? No. She can't forgive him. The lie that the one who is supposed to be comforting her at all times is there, lying through her teeth without even blinking.
She decided.
And her decision is bound to change everything. And also... to avenge the pure poor soul that was murdered even before it opened its eyes and felt the breeze of fresh air and basked under the warm sunlight.
Yes, it's for her child. For herself. And for her family.
She looked at the Demon King's eyes. Crimson red eyes met his slitted amber eyes. She is shining in the pure light of justice. The Demon King cannot help but gasp silently while admiring her. Such determination is worth her wish to be granted no matter how hard it is.
He knows she wants justice for her child and for the unfair life she lived. But the hatred and anger and thirst of revenge only makes the pure white light shine more brightly.
Ah! How he wishes for him to have sunglasses in here.
And as she opened her mouth, Blake knew it.
This wish is about to be interesting.
