CHAPTER1
Belinda's POV "I spew thee out of my mouth!" "How can you be so evil to take the life of those who birthed you?" "So soulless to kill them both in cold blood?" "Evil child!" Those were the framing and wicked words of my uncle in front of the whole pack. It was as though he had rehearsed what to say and just played right into the act. I was dumbfounded. It was like I was drugged. There was a wolf attack that fateful night. I was in the living room with Mr. And Mrs. Stock, my dear parents, who had been my joy and life since I was born. We had just finished playing 'Hold a Door'- a game I, Mom and Dad played every night before going to bed. There was a mighty wind that night. Mother was certain it would rain heavily so she suggested we stay indoors till the night was calm. Father wanted to take me for a run but Mother cautioned against it. If only she had allowed us, I would at least have one of them alive today. The backdoor suddenly blasted open and a shadowy figure appeared. A huge black wolf. Dark as the night itself. My heart began to pound as the wolf stared into my eyes. Before I blinked my eyes, it went straight for my parents. They couldn't defend themselves. The wolf was too fast. The way it moved, even I could not catch a glimpse of its swift movement until it was done. All that was left was blood. A large pool of blood. The wolf had gone even before I knew it. I fainted. Waking up to see their body covered in boils and burns like some sort of infection. I stare in shock at the lifeless bodies of my dear parents as they lay on the floor. It was a disgusting sight. So disgusting that I threw up, cried, and threw up again. It had no pity. That wolf, it's intent was to kill. A thorough kill. But why leave me alone? Just take me with them. Why leave me alone deserted in this world? I screamed out in agony and pain. Sitting beside my dead parents and my hands stained with blood. "Please, don't leave me!" I cried. I sat there, crying my eyes out when I heard noises from outside. "Had the wolf attacked the others too?" I wondered. Perhaps it was doomsday and everyone would have their share of it. But no, not at all. These sounds were different. They weren't that of pain. They weren't screams of fright. There were noises of people shouting like something had happened. It got louder and louder by the second like they were approaching our house. Lo and behold, a stone broke the glass and more stones kept coming in. "What the heck is happening outside?" I thought. "Evil child, come out. Murderer!!!" I heard voices outside clamoring and shouting all sorts of names. Wait, could that be for me? What is this? Are these people even aware a wolf just attacked our house and killed my parents? And while I sat and wept and covered my face from being hit by the stones, someone opened the door. I looked back and it was Uncle Matthias and the Elders of the pack. "See, I told you! She killed her parents," Uncle Matthias said in a loud tone. "I saw her shadow as she summoned her wolf and tore them to pieces. I wonder what they could have done to her to deserve this," he added. I sat there in shock at my Uncle's accusations. What is happening? Is Uncle really blaming me for my parents death? Before I could say a word in protest, another stone made it way through the windows and hit me right in the face. "Ouch!" "Serves you right!" one of the elders said. "We should just send her away. She is a forbidden fruit not to be found amongst us. She doesn't deserve to be in this pack." Elder Uther said. He was the oldest of the elders. How could they be so mean? Right in front of my dead parents, they had already cast their judgement based on Uncle's words. "Oh of course. Banishment is what a murderer like her deserves but let's just have mercy on her," Uncle Matthias said. I looked at him in disgust. What is he up to? After framing me for my parent's murder, why is he defending me all of a sudden? "Just let her come stay with me. I will tame her wolf and that murderous spirit that lives inside her," he said. Smart and cruel. What a show. That was what he was after. Me. In his abode. Now I know who was that dark wolf. It had to be him. It just had to be Uncle Matthias. Why didn't I think of it? How quick he was to do his wicked bidding and come back to act like he cares about me. About my family. "We shall give the Stock a befitting burial however it is sad that they were killed by the unstable wolf of their daughter." My wolf snapped at his words. "No! Don't even try it. They already think we murdered our parents." I whispered to my wolf. "Don't be mad," I said to my wolf. My wolf was angered and it grunted audibly. "See, the evil still lives inside her," Uncle Matthias said. Oh, how I wish I had the chance. I would prove what a horrible liar he was but before then, I would let my wolf have a share of his flesh! "Are you really going to allow him to take us away?" He means no good and you know it. Let's attack him!" my wolf suggested. "No, we would avenge my parents but now. We don't know who attacked them yet," I replied. "It's definitely this being who calls himself my uncle. "I can smell him. The darkness that hovers around him. It oozes," my wolf said. "Just take her away for now. The pack shall decide on her case as time goes on. She is all yours, Matthias," Elder Uther said. What else was I expecting? They would support him. He has them under his palms. They would surely believe every word he said. I stare back at the body of my parents. It was unrecognizable. What a brutal act! And right there, without hesitation, without pity, without any remorse, Uncle Matthias grabbed me by my arms and pulled me out the door with force. It was in that moment I noticed a stain of blood on his fingertip. I signaled to my wolf and she perceived the blood. It was that of my mother. I knew it! He is the one who attacked us earlier. Uncle Matthias!!
