*I woke up wearily. What had happened? I couldn't remember anything at all. I could only see darkness for the longest time. I looked around for any clues to see where I was. I saw a pile of clothes, a Seventeen magazine, some candy wrappers, and a empty pizza box. Where the hell was I? What time was it? What day was it? I couldn't even remember simple things like that! I looked around some more. I saw the remote to the tv. I went over to try and pick it up but my hand just went through the remote. What the hell? I tried again. My hand still went through. Was I dreaming?
"Oh my gosh you can't believe how excited I am I finally get to meet you!" I heard a voice say in the other room. It sounded vaguely familiar.
"Well it certainly is nice to meet one of my twins after so long! There's so many things I want to know from you just like you want to know from me but I would like to have Silvia here as well." A deep voice said.
I went to where the voices were coming from. I saw a girl and a tall man with dark brown hair, tan skin, and a stubby nose. I recognized the girl but couldn't put a name to her.
"I'm sure Silvia would be psyched to see you! I know that we both would love to find out what happened to our mother. Apparently she died?" the girl said.
"Ahh yes. You see your mother died giving birth to both of you. It really hit me hard and I couldn't cope with the pain, but I tried to manage. You can never really get over the death of the person you loved." the man explained.
"Oh my gosh. Are you serious? I thought she was killed by somebody because Silvia was eavesdropping on her adoptive parents and they made it seemed like something bad happened to her. "
"Seriously? Greg and Fiona seriously think they killed her? It's their guilt. We were the closest of friends and they just felt horrible after Shontelle died. It's crazy, honestly, to actually think that they killed Shontelle. They would never hurt a fly!" he explained.
"Well okay then! I seriously got to text Silvia and tell her I'm coming back."
The man laughed. "Well feel free to call me when you two are near."
"No problem. Hey, is it okay if I leave my stuff here? I'll be back this weekend to pick it up. I'll just wear some of Silvia's stuff." she said.
"It's fine with me, but I don't know how Melanie will feel when you guys come back. She talked to me saying she already doesn't like you guys." he laughed.
"Oh well she's going to have to get used to us! We'resisters!" she smiled."I have to get going if I want to get to Roswell before midnight! See ya!" then she left.
"Bye Beatrix!"
Beatrix.
Now it was clear. Beatrix and I had been sisters.
Had been.
I couldn't believe it. It just HAD to be the reason I couldn't feel anything. I was dead! How the hell could I have been dead? My memory couldn't provide anything since it vanished.*
I couldn't believe it! I actually met my actual father! This was unbelievable! I couldn't wait to tell Silvia about this! I sent her a quick text: "Mission successful. Will be there this afternoon. See ya soon. ;)"
*But the thing is she wouldn't. Oh how I wish I could tell her about my death!*
A long drive, and 18 potty breaks later, I finally made it to Roswell. I couldn't wait to see the look on Silvia's face! I was so excited! I reached her house and turned off my car. I climbed the tree next to her window and managed to get into it. As I looked around, I couldn't find her anywhere. Just then the light turned on.
"Where the hell have you been young lady?" Fiona asked.
"Umm, Fiona, it's me, Beatrix! Remember, the other twin you gave birth to?" I said trying to tell her the truth.
"Oh that's wonderful. You expect me to believe that? She's back in Las Cruces! There's no way you'd have enough time to get from there to here in a day's travel." she said.
Shit. She really believed I was Silvia.
*And I thought the same thing. How could my own mother not know I was not her?*
"Okay, I'm sorry. I just needed to clear my head. Things have been terrible at school. I'll need do it again I promise!" I quickly lied. Where the hell was Silvia?
"The hell you won't! You're grounded for a month! You can only go to school and back and that's it!" she yelled.
"Fine." I said.
"Give me your keys!" she demanded harshly.
I gave them to her and she looked at them in disbelief. "What the hell are these?"
"They're my friend's keys! She let me borrow her car!"
"Eva?" she asked.
"Actually, yes!"
"Well you drive this car to school tomorrow and give it back to her!" she demanded.
"Fine!"
She turned off the lights and closed the door. I went to Silvia's bed and fell on top of it. Where are you Silvia, I thought. I could really need the info!
*I couldn't help but yell, "I'm dead!" but it was pointless. She couldn't even hear me.*
The next day I hurried to Silvia's school as soon as I woke up. I didn't want to be anywhere near her mom when she got up. She certainly did have quite the temper. I quickly went to the office. Luckily it was open and someone was there. I asked for a copy of Silvia's schedule and immediately started to memorize what and where the classes were. The bell for first period began and I couldn't wait to start the day. Somehow I missed school. When I moved to Las Cruces I really never went back to school but immediately started working for a gas station.
A girl walked in and looked at me and looked shocked that I was there. "Umm what are you doing here?" she asked nervously.
"Umm, I'm learning!" I replied smartly.
She gave a smug look. "Whatever."
*Aphrodite did look kind of shocked that I was there. What the hell was her problem? Suddenly remembering our fights and rivalry. How did I manage to remember it so fast?*
After that weird confrontation, the devil in dark blue jeans and a striped red shirt walked in. Logan.
"Hello class, I hoped everyone did their homework." he said. Everyone groaned and said it was too hard.
I looked in Silvia's backpack for it, but couldn't find it anywhere. "Umm, Mr. Bla k! I can't find it!" I told him.
"That's fine, Silvia. Just bring it in tomorrow for a late grade!" Logan said.
*Incredible! Even teachers didn't even know that Beatrix wasn't me!*
As the class dragged on, the bell rang for second period. I tried to get out of the class as soon as possible but Logan stopped me. "So Beatrix, are we planning a second date soon?" he asked.
"Umm, how about Friday? I'm free then!"
"Okay, babe. Can't wait!"
I quickly got out of there as soon as I could. Damn it. Silvia really screwed things up, I had to go along with it. This was unbelievable.
*I had to agree with Beatrix. This really was unbelievable. I had no idea why he called Beatrix by her real name if she was posing as me, or why they even had a second date. Was I a slut? I really couldn't believe all this. It was even harder to keep up with things since I had no memory of them. But the top of my priority list was to figure out something horrible. It was to find out how I died.*
