Mistaken

Chapter 7

I couldn't sleep for the next three nights. The near-death experience had certainly scarred me for life. Every time I tried to fall asleep I'd always wake up ten minutes later. Also all my dreams ended the same way by my strangler saying "See how easy it is to get my hands around your neck?" then darkness. I was scared out of my mind!

It was Monday and I didn't want to go now. Knowing that anyone could have strangled me scares me to death. But I just had to go, for Beatrix. She was so close now to finding our father.

I arrived to school as usual but decided to go see Logan, just to check up and see how he thought our date went. I went straight towards his class and Aphrodite was in there talking to him. Immediately I went into eavesdropping mode and heard their conversation.

"You can't be serious can you? Its not even the same b***h, Logan!"

"Just shut up! It's definitely Beatrix and we're definitely getting back together."

Oh great, I thought to myself. Just do it for Beatrix and me.

"I already told you before! Silvia locked me in a f*****g freezer and got the info out of me! It is NOT Beatrix!" she yelled loudly. I heard a big smack.

"Shut the f**k up! You just can't be happy for me can you!?" he said angrily.

Wow, is this how he treated her since their parents got married? I couldn't help but think why he did this to her. Certainly explains the psychotic side of him.

"What. The. Hell! I'm telling you the truth!" she sounded like she was crying now.

"Just go to hell, okay? Get out of here." he yelled.I couldn't believe he could act like this!

A crying Aphrodite ran out of the room. She was too busy crying to pay attention to me so I went inside the room to talk to Logan.

"Beatrix, hi!" he said, the angry leaving his voice. He somehow looked more happy than angry.

"Hi, Logan. How are you?"

"Doing great! And you?"

"I'm doing good. I wanted to let you know that I want to try and make things work now."

His face brightened. "Really? Ohmigod! Thank you!" He gave me a really tight hug and an unexpected kiss.

I laughed nervously. "I just thought I should give you a second chance BUT with no death threats, kay?"

"I swear on my grave I will never threaten you again. I promise I'll make things work!" He seemed really sincere about his promise.

Suddenly the first bell rang.

"Go take your seat, Beatrix!" he joked.

"Fine, Mr. Black." I laughed. He sure did seem harmless when I was around. I wonder how long he could keep it up.

As everyone was coming into class, I saw Aphrodite giving a dirty look as soon as she walked in. She walked over towards me and said, "You may have him fooled, but you don't have me fooled. You'll pay for what you're doing."

"Go ahead, Aphrodite. You'll just kill yourself if you're planning on killing me." I said.

"What are you talking about? I'm not going to kill you b***h, I'm just going to tell him the truth and then we'll see what he'll do to you. This is truly a lame way to get with a teacher, slut."

"Whatever." I said.

Now she got me thinking, if it wasn't her who tried to kill me, then who did? Just then I felt hands on my shoulders and I couldn't help but scream. Everyone looked at me and I turned red. I looked behind me and it was just Justin. "Oh my gosh! Don't scare me like that!" I told him.

"I didn't know that scared you? I'm sorry. What happened to texting me or returning my calls?" he asked.

"I'm sorry. I've just been way too busy. I promise we will do whatever you want soon!"

"Okay, whatever you say." he said unconvinced.

"Class has started. Please take your seats, everyone." Logan said. Justin sat by me and I looked at Logan. He was giving the death look towards Justin. s**t. Now I knew what I had to do.

"Umm Justin, I actually think we need to see other people." I managed to say.

"Are you serious? Whatever. Have a nice life." He got up and went to sit somewhere else. I couldn't believe I just did what I did, just to keep up with being Beatrix. I absolutely hated this now.

The day went on wearily and I couldn't help but jump for joy when school was over. I had to absolutely find Eva and tell her what was going on. I couldn't help but feel guilty I was ignoring her. I found her at her locker.

"Hey, Eva! Long time, no talk! I'm sorry for being so busy! I miss talking to you!" I told her.

"Are you? Or do you just need someone to talk to? You have no one now. You've been ignoring me for two weeks. Now if you don't mind I have to meet up with my new best friend."

"Whoa, hold up. I'm sorry for being busy but you're taking this way too dramatically."

"Whatever. Don't wait up." She left me there.

What the hell! I couldn't believe she dumped me and left me best friendless! I was now lonely. I had absolutely no one but Logan. I couldn't believe what was happening.

I hurried home and went straight towards my room. I couldn't help but cry. I collapsed on the bed and was crying in my pillow. How could this happen? It seems like I was asking myself this question a lot.I fell asleep from crying too much.

I woke up and looked at my clock. It was 12:00 A.M. Great, didn't even get to do my homework. Oh well. I went downstairs to get something to drink.

I managed to be able to see in the dark and went straight towards the fridge. I opened the door when two pairs of hands were around my neck. Was I dreaming?

I tried to kick and scream but the person's grip was too tight. Oh s**t. This wasn't a dream! I frantically started to feel for a knife or fork on the counter but couldn't find one.

"You thought you could get away from me huh? This just goes to show how easy it is to get my hands around your neck a second time." Their voice said. "This will just be over shortly."

Crack.

All there was was darkness.
