Chapter 5 The Wolf/Francessca

1976 Words
POV Francessca A few weeks passed and I hadn’t heard anything from Ashton. I was relieved that he stoped bothering me, but I was embarrassed that it took telling on him to his older brother. I was shopping one day in the near by supermarket. I took a deep breath as I pushed my heavy shopping trolly because I was so exhausted. I felt like leaving all the food in the cart and I dreamed about texting my family that they can make their own Sunday dinner and then go straight to bed, but I knew I couldn’t let them down. When I yawned again I could actually feel my eyes about to close and I knew I had to make it home to lie down before I fell down right there in the supermarket. When I turned around to head to the door I noticed Jack Owen walking towards me and I was surprised and delighted. I hadn’t stopped thinking about him since our meeting. “Hi Wolf” he said and I couldn’t help but slap his arm. “Don’t call me that” I said with a giggle “how are you? You look great” he said looking me up and down. But I didn’t feel great. I’d drank a large whiskey after dinner the night before and slept for 13 hours straight and I still felt like I could sleep for another 13 hours. “I’m good thanks. What are you doing here?” I asked and I immediately regretted it because it sounded silly. “Well believe it or not, I’m food shopping” he said with a sexy grin. “I mean do you live in the area?” He nodded his head and pointed to the doors and it gave me the opportunity to look at his huge muscles in his fitted t shirt. Although he was still incredibly hot, I preferred him dressed in a suit the way he had been in his office. “Yeah I’m just around the corner” he looked into my cart “are you feeding an army?” He joked and I loved his cheeky sense of humour. “My family are all coming over for Sunday dinner and there is a lot of us. My twin sister Mamba works all over the world but she’s back for a few days so there will be alot of us” His eyes looked sad for a moment “you’re lucky, it was only me and my mum when I was growing up. I would love to have a big family one day, I can’t wait to have kids of my own.” This gorgeous Alpha male was basically saying that he wanted everything that I wanted from life but I knew I didn’t stand a chance with him because he was so gorgeous. I stared at his beautiful face and when I realised I hadn’t said anything for a while I decided to make a little joke to break the tension “you wouldn’t say that you wanted a big family if you seen us all together. A bunch of Italians fighting over food isn’t a nice family dinner, by the time I’ve finished cooking and sat down there’s hardly any food left for me” His face softened into a lovely smile. “I bet your food is amazing, the cannoli you gave me in my office were delicious. I split up with my last girlfriend because she couldn’t even make toast. When I do settle down I really need a wife that can cook” So he was looking for a wife! “well my mum was Italian and she taught us all how to cook. I would invite you over to join us for dinner but as I say my family are a bit much. What are you having tonight?” I said looking into his basket and it only had eggs in it. I pulled a face and he laughed loud enough to scare the old lady standing next to us. “Yeah, eggs are a bit boring but it’s all I can cook and my housekeeper is off sick.” It pained me that he was going home to eat boiled eggs so I decided to invite him over to my house. “Why don’t you join us for dinner?” He put his hand up “I couldn’t impose like that, plus your brothers scare the s**t out of me” I couldn’t help but laugh because every man I’d ever met were scared of my brothers. Then Jack put his hand on my arm “why don’t you let me take you out for dinner one night?” He asked and it was incredibly tempting. He was gorgeous but I’d dated his brother. I pulled a face “I know you dated my brother Ashton, but he said that it was nothing serious. He’s moved on with someone else, so I would love to take you out” I wanted to jump up and down on the spot and tell him that I wanted to marry him and cook him dinner every night and have his babies but I knew that it could never be serious with us if I’d shagged his brother. “I’m sorry Jack, I would love to, but it seems wrong” he nodded his head in agreement. “Well the offer stands, call me if you change your mind” he said with a smile that made me want to giggle like a school girl. “it was nice to see you” I said as he swaggered away and I didn’t stop staring at him until he was out of sight. A few days later I walked from my office to my favourite coffee shop and ordered my usual double espresso because I could feel my eyes closing as I stared at my computer screen. When I went to take a seat Jack Owen was sitting in one of the booths sipping a coffee whilst scrolling through his phone. My tummy fluttered when I seen him but he hadn’t noticed me. He was wearing a navy suit and matching tie and he took my breath away. I was deciding if I should approach him. I knew that I fancied him but I also knew that I couldn’t date him, so what would be the point? I decided to be a grown up and take my coffee and hide in the corner so he couldn’t see me but he glanced up just in time to catch me. “Hello Frankie, twice in one week I hope you’re not stalking me” he said with a huge smile. “You wish Jack” I said and his smile faded “I do wish you’d stalk me, Come and sit down here. I’ll get your coffee” he said and it was the first time anybody had done something as small as get me a coffee in a long time. I loved looking after my family and they all treated me like a mum since our mum died but it could be exhausting. The men I attracted were all spoiled babies too and I wondered what it was about me that I would end up in relationships with boys that needed looked after rather than a real a man. I was only in the coffee shop because my assistant was too pregnant to go for me and I’d just spent twenty minutes rubbing her lower back. Literally everyone in my life used me for their own needs and I was thrilled that Jack could do something as simple as grab my coffee. Jack placed my cup in front of me as I took off my jacket and I seen him glance at my t**s. It wasn’t an over the top stare like his brother had. Jack was too composed for that. “So why are you hiding out in a coffee shop when you have such a lovely office around the corner?” I asked as I blew onto my hot coffee. He watched me for a second before he answered. The way he looked at me made me think he was going to grab me and pin me to the table and have his way with me but he just cleared his throat “well if you must know, I’m avoiding the place. I was there late last night and I’ve been thinking recently that life is too short. That I’m rotting away in that office. I just don’t know what to do next” he said and I liked how honest he was with me. “My oldest brother Antonio has took a step away from the business. He feels the same as you. But all I can say is don’t start any hobbies because he had a new one every week and it left him feeling worse than before. He has the worst temper and when he’s not happy he wants the whole world to burn.” Jack looked terrified for a moment and then laughed “I hope I don’t meet him any time soon” My brother The Beast had a terrible reputation for being a bully and that mixed with his huge stature and the long scar on his face made people terrified of him. I would watch people actually avoid his gaze as he walked past them but what people didn’t know was that he was possibly the most sensitive soul I had ever known. “My brother struggled with having so much free time, but now he’s enjoying his semi retirement. You should do what he did and put people in place that can pick up your work. What will you do with the free time?” He gave me a flirty grin “Well I met this really beautiful girl, I’d love to spend all my time with her but she dated my brother and doesn’t like me” I nearly spat out my coffee “are you talking about me?” He nodded his head and I had to regain my composure because it was so out of the blue. “I do like you but it’s weird..” he put his hand on top of mines “I get it” he said but he looked frustrated. We sat there for another hour before I jumped up when I noticed the time. “Oh Jack , I need to go. I have to take my brother to the dentist” he furrowed his brow “can’t he go by himself?” I just shook my head. He got up and stood behind me with my coat to help me put it on. “Button up, it’s cold out there” he said and I liked every single thing about him. I turned to face him “well I guess I’ll see you around” he said and I could feel myself panic because I wanted to see him so badly I nearly shouted it out for everyone in the coffee shop to hear. “Yeah I’ll see you. Maybe I’ll see you in here?” I said and he smiled “maybe I’ll see you tomorrow around 3 o’clock right here” I must admit I liked his style. “Maybe 2.30” I said. I was trying to be flirty and he seemed to enjoy our banter. I walked away and he shouted after me “maybe you could bring some of those cannolis with you” I waved back at him with a smile as I left. I got out onto the street and took a deep breath because I had just spent the past hour with the most wonderful man and I couldn’t wait to see him again.
