“Anne, take a nap and you won’t have to keep asking are we there yet,” my dad suggested. “No dad we are going to....” but before I could finish my sentence, a blue SUV ran into our car, and we spun out of control. Screams filled the air, piercing my ears. I jumped out of bed drenched in sweat. I walked to the bathroom and splashed water on my face. “It’s just a dream,” I told myself in the mirror. My heart rapidly beat and my body trembled. Those last words my father said played in my head over and over again like a broken record. I could almost hear exactly how his voice sounded. The pitching screams and blood scarred my memory and dreams. I wish I could forget the details, but my mind just doesn’t seem to forget the most traumatizing event of my life.
