16. LHPT 2

'We stand together we fall together'

The waiter came in a hurry and stood beside him handing out a menu. He took it and scrutinized the various meals glancing at his three year-old daughter ensuring she doesnt move too far. Lisa had gone back to the suite they were staying deep in thought, something was off and she could feel it. It didn't help that Austin had ignored her twenty messages,ten voicemails and the email she had sent to apologize for Tony's unruly behaviour. They had been seated at the table by the pool.

"Veggie,Mica I thought you were non-veg?"

"Five years is a long time Tony,I've changed the woman I was then isn't who I am today"

"Five years is a long time but nothing has changed Mica. You still steal glances when you think I can't see you,you still dream about my eyes and well you look at my pictures ever day drooling over me when you pretend to be reading that book you like,TSBK"

"I.. I actually read that book Tony just because I've read it a million times doesn't mean it gets less interesting. Just because you found me once doesn't mean  I do it daily!"

"Of course you don't Mica. I wish to defer,Lia just had your phone a minute ago and I could swear you had forgotten to go back to Candy Crush just in time for her to take the phone. I unlocked it for her Mica and I may be heartless but not blind."

"You are so despicable, you have no right to go through my contacts let alone touch my phone"

"The only despicable person here is you Mica. Twenty messages to green eyes ands several voicemails like your life depends on it. I gave you several warnings to stay away from him and now this is what you do! You go acting up like a child and blame me for whatever we are now. I never listen you say but do you ever give me a chance or ever let  me in. f**k all this money I have cause apparently you are not happy with me here,now or before. I would never want Lia to grow up like this Mica. You stole from me Mica,lied to me several times and left me with child without a word. Five years you hide away and apparently no one knows where you went. We stand together we fall together remember? I loved you and honoured  you above all the hate growing around us. I gave you everything and granted all your wishes Mica,but you always chose you and that's why we will never work out." The conversation had ended with a teary Lisa who couldn't grasp the reason to her tears as they continuously cascaded. She had left him with Lia and had rushed to her room. The big room she was in as a complete mess on the six by six bed recollecting memories. He had no right to decide who was to be in her life no one could take green eyes away from her. They were all she knew and she couldn't believe life without him,the years they had been apart had crushed her but she couldn't compare what she felt for Tony. Tony had been her first everything but Austin had been her almost first everything had it not been the fact that it was weird. She was sure she wanted Lia to have her daddy but she wasn't sure after what happened they could ever have a future with Tony. She dried her tears and shook her head several times walked into the ensuite bathroom. Glancing at her reflection by the mirror she couldn't believe what she saw. Raccooned eyes,undone hair and the same eyes Lia had but a stronger sense to make it better for her baby girl. She undressed and run the water as she combed her hair in attempt to untangle it. She got into a bathrobe and removed a nightgown from a closet in the room. Lia would be up with Tony in some minutes and she needed to be dressed for bed to avoid Tony for the night.

The night was cold as she sat by the window in the room they were supposed to share,she had crossed the limit jumping to conclusions that Tony was the reason she couldn't get a hold of Austin. Lia was deep in sleep in the six by six bed they were to share that night. But she was at the window crying and Tony was in the big bathroom staring at his bleeding hand from crushing the glass of vodka from their talk. He wanted to get over the point she was just hurt by whatever was happening between them and that she really wished he had been there all those five years but with each passing second everything she did or said related to Austin and he should have known. He should have known that the first time he had set his eyes on her she had already been too deep with Austin and however how much he wanted to go back in time,sweep off her feet it was impossible. She wasn't sure why she was crying maybe the fact that she was so worried about Austin or that she was always ruining things with her baby daddy a.k.a the love of her life. She stared at the bathroom door for minutes wishing she could reach out and apologize but it had been too much for them today. She wiped her tears and grabbed her iPhone from the edge of the window. She tucked her daughter deeper into the duvet and joined her in bed. It had been a long day and she wouldn't have considered sleep at all but she needed it. Five minutes later she was deep in slumber when he had left the bathroom, he stood there and watched as everything he had ever wished for crumble slowly into pieces. He was gonna fight for her the only way he knew how and maybe it was finally time to go back to Nonna in Florence. It had been a long emotional day for both of them and he needed rest. As he snuggled into the sofa by the living room he couldn't stop a smile as a naive sixteen year old Lisa came to mind. He drifted happily to sleep knowing this fight was far from over and he was going to make it right for them.
