Isabella miscarriage

The morning after Ethan left for the airport, Isabella returned to her bedroom. She had expected to find the room empty, but instead, Jessica was comfortably seated on the edge of the bed, waiting for her. Isabella placed a hand on her chest and sighed. "You almost scared me," she said. Jessica smiled innocently. "Did I?" "Yes, you did." Isabella removed her jacket and tossed it onto a nearby chair before walking toward the dressing table. She looked exhausted after seeing Ethan off and wanted nothing more than a little peace. Jessica folded her arms and watched every movement. "So..." she began with a teasing smile. "How was my brother in bed? I hope you enjoyed your first night together." Isabella paused for a moment before laughing softly. "Woo... your brother is quite sweet. Sophia must have been enjoying all that alone." Jessica's smile slowly widened. "And that's exactly why Sophia had to leave. You are the only woman fit to stand beside Ethan and become part of the Williams family." She stood and walked closer. "But there are rules in this house. You need to understand that the people who control this family are my mother and me. Anyone who dares to challenge us always pays the price." Jessica expected fear to appear on Isabella's face. Instead, Isabella calmly picked up a cup of tea and took a slow sip. "What if I'm here because I have my own plans?" she asked. Jessica blinked. "What do you mean?" "I mean exactly what I said." Jessica frowned. "Why would you say something like that?" Isabella smiled without showing any emotion. "Because you've already answered your own question." Jessica became even more confused. "I don't understand." Isabella gently placed the teacup back on the table before turning toward her. "I have no problem with you or your mother's authority in this house. I married into this family, and as long as your requests are reasonable, I will do what you ask." She raised one finger. "But don't involve me in unnecessary battles." Her voice became firm. "Because once I'm forced into one... I never retreat." Jessica felt a chill run down her spine. "What exactly do you mean by that, Isabella?" "If you truly want the answer," Isabella replied with a smile, "go and ask your mother. She's in a much better position to explain it." Without another word, Isabella walked into the bathroom, leaving Jessica standing there with countless questions racing through her mind. Jessica hurried downstairs and went straight to Abigail's room. The moment she entered, Abigail noticed the worried expression on her daughter's face. "What happened?" Abigail asked. Jessica repeated every word Isabella had said. When she finished, Abigail smiled calmly. "You worry too much." Jessica looked surprised. "Mother... what does she mean?" Abigail laughed softly. "Why do you think we allowed Isabella into this family so easily?" Jessica remained silent. "She isn't just Ethan's wife." Abigail's smile slowly darkened. "She is the woman we intend to use to destroy Ethan." Jessica nodded slowly. "You want the inheritance ," Abigail continued. "And I want it too." Her eyes narrowed. "Since that foolish Sophia finally left this family, our greatest obstacle is gone." She leaned closer. "For now, Isabella is useful. As long as she remains Ethan's wife, we can continue with our plans." Jessica finally understood. "So I should support everything she does?" "Exactly." Abigail nodded. "Treat her well. Encourage her. Gain her trust." She smiled coldly. "Before she realizes she's nothing more than a chess piece." Jessica remained thoughtful. Sometimes she wondered about something she had never dared to ask aloud. Could Ethan truly be Abigail's biological son? That question haunted her almost every day. Three days later, Ethan was still away on his business trip. Early that morning, a painful scream echoed through the Williams mansion. "Ahhh!" Abigail and Jessica rushed upstairs. They burst into Isabella's room. She was lying on the bed, crying in pain while blood stained the white bedsheet beneath her. Abigail's face turned pale. "Call the driver!" she shouted. Within minutes, Isabella was rushed to the hospital. The doctors immediately wheeled her into the emergency room while Abigail and Jessica waited anxiously outside. Neither of them spoke. Almost an hour later, the doctor finally walked out. Abigail hurried toward him. "Doctor... how is Isabella? Is she alright?" The doctor's expression remained serious. "I'm afraid the pregnancy couldn't be saved." Abigail froze. "What... what are you saying?" Jessica's eyes widened. "Do you mean Isabella lost the baby?" The doctor nodded. "Yes." Silence filled the hallway. Abigail stumbled backward as though someone had struck her. "No..." She shook her head repeatedly. "That can't happen." Jessica grabbed her mother's arm. "Mother..." Abigail covered her face. "The child was our greatest advantage." The doctor adjusted his glasses before speaking again. "There is another matter you need to know." Both women looked at him immediately. "What is it?" Jessica asked. The doctor lowered his voice. "The miscarriage isn't the biggest problem." Abigail frowned. "What do you mean?" "I carried out additional examinations." He opened a file. "Isabella's womb has suffered severe damage." Jessica swallowed nervously. "How bad is it?" The doctor sighed . "Very bad." He looked directly at Abigail. "Any pregnancy she conceives is unlikely to survive beyond the first trimester." Abigail stared at him in disbelief. "No..." The doctor continued. "She has tampered with her reproductive health in the past, and the damage is now permanent." Jessica covered her mouth in shock. "So... she can never give birth?" "Not naturally." The doctor paused briefly before adding another sentence. "I also completed further tests using Sophia's previous medical sample." Both women immediately leaned closer. "What about Sophia?" Jessica asked. The doctor looked at them carefully. "She didn't lose her pregnancy." Abigail's breathing stopped. "What?" "She only suffered a miscarriage scare." He closed the file. "Sophia is still carrying Ethan's child." Jessica felt as though the ground beneath her had disappeared. "No..." Abigail clenched both fists tightly. "This can't be happening." The doctor remained silent. Abigail began pacing around the hallway. "I tried everything to remove Sophia from Ethan's life because she was too intelligent... too difficult to control." Her breathing became heavier. "And now the woman we trusted has become useless while Sophia is carrying the Williams heir." She turned toward the doctor. "Does Ethan know?" The doctor shook his head. "Not yet." "I almost informed him today, but your arrival interrupted our conversation." Abigail immediately stepped forward. "Listen carefully." Her tone became threatening. "Ethan must never know." "Not about Sophia's pregnancy." "And not about Isabella's miscarriage." The doctor hesitated. "But—" "There are no buts." Abigail's voice became cold. "We'll handle Ethan ourselves." Jessica nodded in agreement. "For now, we need time." The doctor reluctantly agreed. "I understand." Abigail finally calmed herself before walking toward Isabella's hospital room. Inside the room, Isabella lay quietly with tears streaming down her cheeks. The moment she saw Abigail and Jessica, she broke down again. "I lost my baby..." Her voice trembled. "My only weapon to secure my place beside Ethan." Abigail slowly sat beside her. She gently held Isabella's hand. "You must stop crying." Isabella looked at her helplessly. "What future do I have now?" "You still have one." Abigail spoke with confidence. "Ethan will never know about this miscarriage." Isabella stared at her. "What?" "We've already made arrangements." She smiled reassuringly. "As far as Ethan is concerned, you're still pregnant." Jessica nodded. "Mother will take care of everything." Abigail squeezed Isabella's hand. "If Ethan begins asking questions about the pregnancy, leave everything to me." She smiled confidently. "Before he discovers the truth, our entire plan will already be complete." Hope slowly returned to Isabella's eyes. She wiped away her tears. Perhaps... Everything was not lost after all.
