I pulled away from him, breaking our kiss. “Lucifer, I really need to sleep. I’m exhausted.” I rubbed my face trying to fight off the sleep. Lucifer stared at me and gently traced my lips with his thumb. “Well Darling, I’ll allow you rest. I will visit you tomorrow. I have to return to finish some business.” His lips lightly touched my forehead, “Goodnight Darling.” With that he disappeared into a haze of charcoal smoke.
I drug my feet toward the bed, willing them to move with whatever strength I had left. I kicked off my shoes, but then collapsed face first into the pillows fully dressed, and fell asleep with the taste of Lucifer’s kiss on my lips.
