CHAPTER 33.5: Vision

536 Words
ROMINA FOUND HERSELF IN AN ISOLATED WEST WING OF THEIR BUILDING. Or more like, this is the old, abandoned building of their school. For as long as she could remember, this building was once used by her mother’s batch when they were still in high school. It’s already two decades old and she heard that this building will be demolished sooner or later. But then, she couldn’t help but wonder… Why am I here? I couldn’t remember that I came here. She remembered that she’s walking with Luciel and Simeon and the two were actually at the urge of quarreling (well, Luciel is actually the one who’s rude towards Simeon) when someone bumped at her. More like a kid bumped onto her. She was about to call Luciel when she heard fast and heavy footsteps meters ahead of her. Romina could actually hear the frantic pants, huffs, and concealed whimpers. What was that? She slowly walked into the lobby. The place is silent, she observed. But as much as she loves silence, this silence is too eerie for her liking. The silence is giving her goosebumps and for an unknown reason, she felt terrified. “Pagbilang ko ng sampu, nakatago ka na…” Romina flinched when she heard a screechy and eerie voice. It was just too loud that the voice pierced onto her ear. When she slowly recovered, she saw something—or more like someone running on the east wing of the building. It looked like it was being chased or something. Even if the situation is very, very terrifying for her, she decided to follow that person. “Isa…” This is just ridiculous. She didn’t know if the isolated abandoned building, or that someone running away from something or the eerie voice counting is the one that is giving her chills down her spine. “Dalawa…” “Tatlo…” “Apat…” “Lima…” She heard something faint that opened. By the sound of it, she could really tell that it’s a locker. Her breathe felt heavier the moment she walked towards the old locker place of the said building. Even if she’s scared because of the eerie voice counting, she still gathered her courage and bravery to walk towards the said lockers. “Anim…” “Pito…” “Walo…” Her breath became heavier and heavier when she entered the lock place. “Siyam…” She heard his footsteps slowly fading which actually made her felt a little relief. “SAMPU!” She heard a scream. It was actually scary, terrifying. The situation is getting more and more terrifying. But instead of running away to save herself. She ran towards the locker room. As soon as she arrived, she saw something—or someone holding a girl who’s trying to escape from his hold, crying messily. She didn’t know if these two saw her that she just watched at them helplessly. Or so she thought. Her eyes widen and her breath became faster and heavier because the next thing she knew, the terrifying face of the man turned towards her. “Sampu!” The next thing she knew is her vision slowly became blurry and everything turns black.
