Reid POV:
Our SUV's were headed to the house of Alpha Kitt. The leader of the elite Blood Rose pack. I reluctantly agreed to come, if it were up to me I would have just sent my Beta, Arlo. I had too many duties to take care back at the pack house, and on top of that running all the family businesses. Stress seemed to overwhelm me these days. The pack was putting added pressure on me because they longed for their Luna. I felt torn inside. My packed wanted their Luna, but i'm afraid it would show weakness to not just them, but the rest of the world. I've been ruling with an iron fist ever since I became Alpha. Would having a mate make me weak? I quickly shrugged off the idea.
I ran a pack named Blaze Crest, I inherited the alpha position from my father when I turned 18. My father, Spencer still helps me run the businesses on the side. But for the most part he leaves all important pack decisions up to me. My father had prepared me to be Alpha all my life, so i was more than ready when I turned 18. I watched him as he led our pack to many victories along side of Blood Rose pack. They were a very important ally. Since my rule of Alpha, everything has been in line, and for the most part peaceful. Well, until recently. There has been many reports of rouge attacks on smaller packs and territories. The whole reason for the meeting with Kitt today was to establish a battle plan to destroy those disgusting leeches. Kitt's men had discovered a rouge camp roughly 50 miles away from Blood Rose territory. He had a feeling they were planning bigger attacks, so the strategy was to take them out before they had chance. Just the thought of those filthy excuses of a werewolf made my blood boil.
The black Escalade reached the elegant iron gate of the Blood Rose pack. The driver rolled down his window and produced our ID's. The guard hit a button and the gate with intricate rose designs opened. The scene behind the gate was equally elegant. Willow trees bordered the driveway showing off quite the refined southern charm. I had never been on Blood Rose territory, because the ally-ship my father had produced with Kitt was remarkable. There had been peace in the werewolf arena for almost 10 years. 7 of that I have been Alpha. So there was truly no need for me to ever had to visit Blood Rose. Until now, ugh, those f*****g rouges.
I stepped out of the of the Escalade and admired the mansion in front of me. The mansion was white and had two stone step pathways leading to the inside of the house. A sweet scent instantly invaded my nose, it was a combination of banana flower and passion fruit. The aroma was heavenly. Before I could enjoy anymore of the scent I was being whisked away from some of Kitt's warriors. My Beta, Arlo was walking right behind me. The floor to wall windows captured the serene view of the Gulf of Mexico. The water was crystal blue and beat across the sand. I snapped back into reality when we reached the Alpha Kitt's office. The warrior knocked and opened the door.
"Reid! Welcome! It's a pleasure to finally meet you!" Kitt spoke with admiration.
"Thank you for your hospitality Kitt, I've heard many great things about you." I said while offering up my hand to properly introduce myself. "And this is Arlo, my Beta" Arlo reached out to shake Kitt's hand as well.
"I hope your father hasn't ruined your impression of me, we were quite the duo back in the day" Kitt said chuckling
"Not at all sir, he's only told me a few crazy stories here and there" I grinned. My father and Kitt really had a great friendship outside of work. Mom has even called it a "bromance".
"I'm sure you have heard about the recent rouge attacks"? Kitt turned back to the corner of his office and began pouring drinks at the wet bar.
"Yes, unfortunately. I thought your work with my father may have ended all them 10 years ago. I guess it was time they made their reappearance" I said with annoyance in my voice.
"Those fuckers can never learn their lesson can they?" Kitt was now walking over to where Arlo and I stood handing us whiskey glasses. "Please have a seat". He instructed. I sat down in a plush leather chair in front of Kitt's desk. Arlo sat down in the chair beside me.
"So what kind of plan have you been scheming up Kitt?" Arlo had a devious grin on his face.
"My men came across a rouge camp about 50 miles off of our territory, my plan was to ambush and slaughter them before they have a chance to make another attack". Kitt tossed back his drink and I followed suit. The whiskey was like a smooth burn down my throat, it had a sweet hint of honey.
"Sounds like a perfect plan to me, when are you wanting to attack?" I said after taking the last sip of my whiskey.
"How does 3 days from now sounds to you? That should be ample time to rally up some men and head out".
"You got yourself a deal Kitt" I reached out my arm to shake Kitt's hand, finalizing the plan we had just made. The alliance between Blood Rose and Blaze Crest wasn't one to be f****d with, and we were going to make that clear. Arlo and I began walking out of Kitt's office and the aroma hit my nose once more. God, that amazing smell can't be the house can it? It made my heart beat fast and I began to feel uneasy. I write it off as just nerves for the upcoming battle. With that Arlo and I headed back out to the black Escalade and hopped in.
