I typically think of myself as something of a good person. I want to make sure that innocent people are safe. It was part of why I wanted back down to earth so bad.
Okay, that and another reason.
It was bad timing, to say the least, when Nora texted me. When I walked in that house, either she was downplaying Kai’s injuries, or Tyr was being overdramatic.
Nora was the only rational person in the room.
Even if Kai and I weren’t perfect, it’s not like I never cared about her. Obviously I did. I cared enough to consider giving up my immortality for her. Live a life like that of a mortal. It wouldn’t have been my first choice, but it was a sacrifice I was willing to make for the girl.
