DENNY
I have been swamped lately I finished my college courses and got my business and culinary degree's and we have been working on the resturaunt. My dad retires on January 1st and Mal will take over the company.
Our babies are growing like weeds and starting to crawl around everywhere. We are on the way to SanHolla to do the holiday gift run for dad and visit Daniella.
Mason hasn't made an attempt at her but we still expect him to. Daniella and Mike have been officially together for 4 months now and I couldn't be happier for her. J.R. has adjusted as well and loves Mike a lot he is turning 8 in 2 days and we can't wait to celebrate with him.
We pull up to Daniella's and she runs out of the house tripping on the last step. I catch her
" Careful woman, you have precious cargo"
She giggles
" Thanks Denny, I missed you"
I hug her
" I missed you too Danny let the boys grab the kids we will go chat"
She nods and we head to the kitchen and she pours us some tea.
" So are you and Maliki wanting more kids?"
I shrug
" Maybe sooner than you think, but our life is crazy right now, we will settle for spoiling that little baby of yours and our big boy J.R. for now"
" Good thing we are moving to DelCity"
I giggle
" Just get's me closer to spoil them more"
" Same here" She starts giggling
" Where is my little man?"
" Still at school Jakel should be leaving to go get him now."
I nod and turn as Mike comes trotting in holding Mabileen and grabbing a cookie
" What are you doing crazy"
" Spoiling uncle Mike's girl mind your business"
" My kid my business butthead"
He chuckles and sits her on the counter feeding her the cookie. Then grabs Maleek from Mal and gives him a cookie.
Maleek smiles
" Ummi ookie"

Daniella laughs
" please tell me that is his first word"
I nod
" His was Ummi and Mabi's was daddy"
She smiles
" fat kid like his daddy"
MALIKI laughs wrapping his arms around my waist
" I take offense to that, it isn't my fault my wife is the best cook in the world"
I laugh
" Awe babe your just a fat kid at heart"
He leans down kissing my neck
" Maybe"
I turn around and kiss him softly and he chuckles at me.
" I love you brat"
" I love you, now you and Mike go play so we can talk"
" Whatever you say baby"
He pecks my lips and walks away
I turn to Danny and she is smiling
" How do you do it Denny girl?"
" Do what?"
" Stay so in love with Ki"
" Honestly, because I have experience life without him and I know it is something I never want"
" Ummi, ummi"
She smiles handing him another cookie
" Is that okay? Their sugar free"
I nod
" It's fine we can all go eat dinner after J.R. gets home"
She nods
" Cool I'm starving, so how is the resturaunt?"
" Coming along grand opening is Valentines and we are fully booked already"
" I got you a new piece I wanted you to put in your resturaunt it is small but I think you will love it"
She grabs Maleek and I grab Mabi and we go to her studio she leads me to a small statue of a body gaurd wrapped around two small children and their mother.
Tears spring to my eyes
" Danny it's.... It's so beautiful"
she smiles
" Thought you would like it."
" I still need to put it in the kiln but it will be ready when you leave"
I nod
" One question"
" Anything"
" Can you add another baby in there?"
" Oh my goodness I didn't catch that till just now"
" Yes of course"
I smile
" Thank you Danny"
" Your my sister Denny I would do anything for you and my adorable niece and nephew" She starts tickling the kids and they giggle.
"AUNT DENNY!!!!!"
I turn around embracing J.R.
" What's up little man I missed you"
" I missed you two, can we cook together?"
" Not tonight but I am here for 3 whole days"
He nods
" Okay, I can't wait"
" Me either little man"
I hug him again
" Oh I missed you so much"
" Can I play with the twins?"
I look at Danny and we both nod
" Of course, let's go in the livingroom"
We go in the living room and sit the kids down I walk over and sit on Mal's lap and he wraps his arms around me. We sit in silence watching them play for a while.
Mike: " Let's go eat"
We go eat dinner and catch up with our family then call it a night and retire to our room. I crawl into Maliki's arms and fall straight to sleep.
The next morning we woke up and went for a run, J.R. is helping me cook breakfast.
" Aunt Denny?"
" Yeah little man?"
" Can I be a chef like you?"
I lean to him
" You can be anything you want to be sweet boy"
" Does that mean Mike can be anything he wanys to be?"
" Of course it does"
" Including my daddy"
I smile and kiss his forehead
" Especially your daddy sweet boy"
He nods and gets back to wisking his eggs
We eat breakfast and head out shopping we stop at the food court to eat and Maliki kisses me
" I love you and I am sorry for this"
" For what Mal"
" Jakel take the kids and girls and get them out of here"
I look across the food court following his eyes I nod getting up
" Be careful I love you"
He nods and I grab the stroller running in the opposite direction we get to the parking garage and slow down as Jakel gets infront of us heading to the car.
Daniella: " Denny what is happening"
" Mason"
We get to the car and I see Jakel's panicked face
" s**t RUN, RUNN"
Jakel: " HURRY DENNY"
we took off running and I hear the click the flames start filling the room as we get to the stair doors. I push everyone in and I feel my leg singe I shut the door as Danny grabs the front of the stoller, I grab the back and run down the stairs ignoring the pain.
We get down two flights and stop
I check my kids and then I walk over to Daniella
" You okay? are you hurt?"
" I'm fine Denny"
I lean down to J.R.
" You okay sweet boy?"
" I'm fine aunt Denny"
" Denny your leg!!!"
" It's okay, it's just a burn"
I lean against the wall after about 15 minutes I hear Maliki's panicked voice
"DENNY!!"
"ARDENIA!!!"
I stumble up the stairs. The door handle is still hot
" Mal"
"Mal"
" s**t Denny, is everyone okay?"
" Jakel is gone I'm hurt, we are two flights down"
" I'm on my way baby"
I stumble back down leaning against the wall
Maliki barrels in
" F**k Baby"
" I'm fine"
" Your burned stubborn ass come on"
He scoops me up
" Mike watch the kids be safe"
Mike nods and Mal carries me to the ambulance
MIKE
We take off after Mason and finally grab him and he start laughing
" What is so funny prick"
" Your too late and I got a bonus"
We hear the explosion and people screaming and running from the parking garage.
Maliki grabs his collar
" I swear Mason if my wife and kids have a scratch on them I will f**king kill you with my bare hands." He knocks him out cold and drags him back toward the garage.
It was been the quietest longest 15 minutes of my life waiting for some of the flames to die down.
Maliki drags Mason along the hot cement yelling for Denny as I yell for Daniella.
We get past our car and see a charred carcus and Ki drops Mason's limp passed out body and starts screaming for Denny.
After an eternity we hear that sweet little voice from the staircase
" Mal"
"Mal"
" s**t Denny, is everyone okay?"
" Jakel is gone I'm hurt, we are two flights down"
We take off running throught the parking garage the ambulance is right there two storries down.
" There are survivors in the staircase"
They nod and start getting ready
Maliki Barrels in grabbing Denny and telling me to watch the kids.
I grab Daniella and kiss her not wanting to let go
" You okay?"
she nods I lean down to her belly
" You okay in there little one?"
She giggles
" We are fine Baby Jakel and Denny saved us."
I move to J.R. grabbing his head and leaning his forehead to mine
" You okay little man"
He hugs me crying
" I'm fine daddy, is aunt Denny okay"
I smile he just called me dad
" She will be fine buddy, uncle Ki will take care of her"
I get up hugging Danny again stroking her hair
" You scared the crap out of me baby"
She pulls back looking at me
" Mason he did this did you get him"
" Not sure we saw Jakel's body and left him passed out by the car. Grab the kids and find Denny I will see if he is still there"
She nods
" Be safe Mike I love you"
Damn two big things in one day
" I love you Daniella" I kiss her
" Go take care of the kids"
She nods and we leave the staircase going our seperate ways. Mason is still passed out by the car I grab his body and throw him over my shoulder carrying him to the police.
I throw him on the ground
" That is the dickhead who set the bombs"
They nod and pick him up I walk over to the ambulance.
Maliki: " Meet us at the hospital I am going with Denny, take care of my kids"
" Always Ki"
We hail a cab and I pull Daniella on my lap
" I don't know what I would have done if I lost you"
She smiles and strokes my cheek
" Let's never find out"
I nod kissing her
" I love you do much Danny, and you" I pull J.R. over to me
" I can't loose you either son"
He smiles
" I love you dad"
" I love you buddy"
MALIKI
" Damnit Denny you could have died"
" Like I knew there was a F**king bomb Maliki"
" What did you want me to do leave Daniella and the kids to fend for themselfs?"
" No baby of course not"
" Then calm down and stop pacing you are giving me anxiety"
I walk over to her and lean down kissing her
" The whole can't loose you thing goes both ways here Ardenia"
" I know Mal but if Jakel didn't stay steady as long as he did it would have been a lot worse"
I nod
" I know baby, I know"
She kisses me
" Please tell me you got Mason"
I nod
" The cops have him now"
She nods
" Should of killed him"
I chuckle against her lips
" I plan on it baby he isn't getting away this time"
" You don't hurt my family"
Daniella and the kids come in and Mike and I walk out of the room.
" Where is he?"
" Two rooms down he has a cop on him"
" Pay him off I have business to take care of"
" Got it boss"
He walks over to the room and him and the cop come out after a few moments. I grab a syringe and fill it with air. I walk into the room and he is awake
" Maliki we are family"
" Wrong, you tried to kill my family"
" Daniella and J.R. thats a no no"
" But the fact you put my wife and kids in this say your last words Mason"
" Tell Francis and J.R. I always loved them that is all I ask Maliki"
I jab the syringe in his Jugular and push it in. then walk out of the room I hear him flatline. I walk into the next room discarding the syringe and walking back to Denny.
She looks at me and I nod she nods back.
When we get to Daniella's Mason's words still resignate with me Francis and J.R. he can't mean my god son Francis can he?
I grab Denny
" Baby can we talk"
" Yeah of course"
We walk to our room
" Ardenia do you know who Francis's father is?"
She nods
" Don't be mad Mal I promise Cheska I wouldn't ever tell anyone"
" I'm not mad baby but you should have told me he was my nephew"
She puts her arms around me
" Why you wouldn't love him any less or any more than you do now Maliki"
I kiss her
" I know baby, but no more secrets"
She backs away" Well there is one"
I raise my eyebrows
" And that would be?"
" My ummm.... my birth control may have sort of failed and ummm."
I grab her head
" Are you serious?"
She nods
" I found out a few days ago I didn't know how to tell you"
" I f**king love you"
I grab her and tackle her to the bed and then lean down and kiss her belly
" And I love you little one"
She giggles pulling me to her.
" I love you silly"
" Come on baby"
I pull her up and we walk out of the room I walk over to the couch and pull her in my arms we watch the kids play and I smile knowing I am having another gorgeous baby with my beautiful wife
