EMBER’S POV. I shrugged, looking at the entrance of Asher’s Mansion. I cannot explain the sudden urge that took over my body to speak to him. The cook and the house help had asked me to go inside his room and wait for him, but I insisted; I’d wait out here in the garden, so I could think properly. I took a deep, introspective look within myself, searching for any moment, any action, or any decision that might have wronged Ava in some way. But no matter how hard I searched, I couldn't find anything that would justify the way she's been treating me. I'm not perfect, I've made mistakes, and I've learned from them. However, when it comes to my relationship with Ava, I've always tried my best to be a good friend. I've protected her, loved her, and cared for her, even when it was difficult.
