A light rain fell over Manhattan as Damien pulled into the parking lot of Dr. Ross's cybersecurity laboratory.
Natalie looked out the window. "You think he found something important?"
Damien switched off the engine. "He wouldn't ask us to come in person unless he had."
The two of them stepped out of the car and were immediately greeted by Logan.
"You made it."
Damien nodded. "Any problems?"
"None so far."
Logan glanced around the nearly empty parking lot before leading them inside. "I'd like to keep it that way."
Inside the laboratory, Dr. Ross looked as though he hadn't slept. Several monitors displayed streams of encrypted code while documents covered nearly every inch of his desk.
