The afternoon meeting with a group of international investors ended later than expected.
Natalie closed her notebook as the last of the guests filed out of the conference room, she let out a quiet sigh. "That went better than I expected."
Damien loosened his tie as they walked into the hallway. "It did."
She glanced at him. "You already knew they were going to approve the proposal, didn't you?"
"I was confident."
She smiled. "That's a very CEO answer."
"It usually works."
Natalie laughed softly. "You know...I've noticed something."
Damien looked at her. "What?"
"You're much less intimidating outside the boardroom."
He raised an eyebrow. "So I've been intimidating inside it?"
"Just a little."
"A little?"
She nodded with exaggerated seriousness. "You have a look."
