I got to their house and pulled into the drive. The girls came running out with big smiles, but I was still shaken by what I saw or thought I saw. They climb into the car, and as they do, Ashley looks at my face,“What’s wrong, Maggie?”
“I was on my way here, and something ran out in front of me. It looked like a black wolf, so I hit my brakes to miss it, but I hit it and when I came to a stop and got out to check, there was nothing there and nothing wrong with the car,” I told them.
“Did you sleep last night?” Kota asked as she buckled up in the back seat.
“Yeah, I fell asleep after the headache stopped, but I had the same nightmare again and didn't sleep well,” I said as we drove out of the parking lot and back home.
“We can talk to your mom about it when we get to your place,” Ashley said as she looked through her makeup bag.
“No, I don't want to worry her today. Let us wait till after the party and my first shift.”
“But what if you were meant to see this black wolf? You know, seeing things is not good”, Kota said. “Yeah, I know but I do have something I wanted to tell y'all. I met my wolf this morning. Her name is Rose” I said.
We talked about our wolves the rest of the way, but the black wolf was all I could think about. Mom was outside setting up for the party when we returned to my house.
We got out of the car. Ashley and Kota took their stuff inside to my room as I walked over to mom and asked what we could do.
“We need to get the tables and chairs set up plus ribbons hung up,” she said as she set the table with a pink tablecloth and centerpieces with lilies. Lilies are the packed flower and part of our name, The Lunar Lillie pack. The centerpiece was three pink lilies, and they looked amazing.
Ashley and Kota came out of the house. I told them what mom wanted to help with, and we set to work. It took us about three hours to get everything done, and now it was time to go get our hair and nails done.
As we loaded up in the car and headed to the salon, Kota was in the back and singing to the music as loud as she could when suddenly she was quiet. I looked in the mirror and saw she had foggy white eyes and was lying back on the seat.
“KOTA” I yelled and pulled over.
Ashley looks back and gasps with her hands over her mouth and tears in her eyes.
“What's happening to her?” Ashley asked as she sat crying.
“I don't know, “I say as I climb in the back seat and grab Kota. I pulled her from the car and laid her on the ground. We sat there for about ten mins; suddenly, Kota sat up and gasped for air.
“Kota, are you OK? What was that? What happened?” Ashley asked her as we both hugged her tight. Kota had started to cry by now and was shaking so hard.
“ I think it was some kind of vision, but I don't know,” she said as she sat there crying.
“Can you tell us what happened?” I asked when she pulled away and wiped her face.
“I was singing when I was suddenly standing in a field outside of a big house. It was a packed house somewhere. But there was a big fight, and these men pulled three women out of the house, throwing them on the ground, yelling at them, but I could not hear what they were saying. Then out of nowhere, they ripped out their hearts and killed them.” she said as she sat there and started crying harder. “I ran as fast as possible; then I was here.”
“It's OK, Kota, we are here, we have you now,” Ashley said as we hugged her and tried to calm her down. We helped her up and get back in the car. Ashley climbs in the back and has Kota in the front so that we can keep an eye on her.
“What do you think all this means?” Kota asked us as we drove down the road.
“I do not know, but I think it's weird that I think I hit a black wolf, and then there is nothing there; then, the same day, you have some vision of an attack of some kind. We should talk to my mom before the party”. I say as we pulled into the salon.
“Yeah, that might be a good idea”, Ashley said as she got out of the car. We walked into the salon and tried to stop thinking about what had happened. We got our hair done all the same way so we could match in one way tonight, then we went and got our nails done to match our dresses. When we got done, we headed back to the house to talk to mom about what had happened today. We walked into the house, and mom was folding clothes in the living room, so we sat on the floor in front of her.
“Hey, mom, can we talk to you for a minute?”
“Yeah honey, what's wrong?” she asked with worry in her eyes. So, we told her everything from the black wolf to Kota's vision. Then we sat there in silence for a few moments.
“ I don't know what that could mean. I have never heard of anything like that before,” mom said as she slowly folded laundry.
Maybe we should talk to the alpha about it and…..” just then, as mom was talking to us, Ashley passed out and hit the floor, and went into a seizure. It lasted about thirty seconds; then she went still. Mom called Dad and Alpha Mike. They came as soon as they could.
Dad and Alpha Mike got there within ten minutes of mom calling them, and they called the pack doctor as they were on their way. They all arrived at the same time. Dr. Marcus came running in and kneeled next to Ashley.
“How long has she been out? And how long was her seizure?” he asked
“ Her seizure was about thirty seconds, and she has been out for about fifteen to twenty minutes now,” mom said as the doctor took Ashley’s vitals. Everyone stood there, just waiting for Ashley to wake up. It had been thirty minutes since her seizure. Ashley slowly starts moving and sits up, looking around.
“What just happened?” she asked.
“ You had a seizure and have been passed out for thirty minutes now,” I told her as she tried to stand and lost her balance, landing back on the floor.
“Don’t try to stand right now, “ Dr. Marcus told her. Mom came back with a glass of water and handed it to Ashley.
“It did not seem like a seizure. I was outside the pack house, and it was kind of like Kota’s vision, but the women pulled out of the pack house were us,” she said as she looked at Alpha Mike and started crying.
“What do you mean?” Kota asked her.
“I mean, it was Maggie, you, and I, and there were three men in front of us; they were yelling, and I could not hear them, so I moved closer, but I still could not hear them, then they ripped our hearts out and killed us,” Ashley said, still crying. I looked over at mom, and she was crying on dad's shoulder.
As we sat there, we told Alpha Mike about Kota’s vision and what I thought I had seen, and we have been trying to piece everything together.
“What do you think this all means?” I asked Alpha Mike.
“I'm not sure, Maggie, but I will contact the elders and get information on what I can. In the meantime, I know a young lady that is having a party tonight, and that is all everyone is talking about in the pack house.” he said as he started to laugh, and he walked over to mom and dad “ Can I speak to you alone, please Rick?”
“Sure, “dad replied as they walked outside.
