I MISSED YOU
Glande's POV
The workday finally came to an end.
I gathered the last of the files from my desk and slipped them into my bag before glancing toward Alex's office.
The glass walls were closed, but I could still see him inside, finishing a phone call.
Our eyes met.
A smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
It was enough to make my heartbeat stumble.
A moment later, he stepped out.
"Ready?" he asked.
I nodded. "Yes."
Jacob walked past us, carrying his laptop.
"You two are leaving?"
Alex answered calmly. "I've got one last document to review with Miss Bennett."
Jacob smirked.
"Of course you do."
I lowered my head, trying to hide my smile.
Alex shook his head.
"Goodnight, Jacob."
"Goodnight."
A few minutes later, we were seated in the back of Alex's black sedan.
