Heidi, pulled Mimi, into the house, and bolted the door after her. She looked around, before taking a step forward towards her couch. She inhaled in the Scentsy that was greeting her with an aroma, of fresh linen. She then plopped down on the couch, and put her hand up on her head, in a gesture as to say; this was all too much for her. She then had a thought, she went over to the desk to grab a pair of binoculars. She could use these, to check out over at the Grants; and she could see if anyone was creeping around outside. Nothing could be seen outside, except a weird red flash up in the dogwood tree. It was so suddenly, and random, she wouldn't have ever noted it, if she wasn't already messing with the binoculars. She adjusted the lenses some more, and focused on on the dogwood tree. The Red flash was gone, and she couldn't see anything except flowering buds , and branches. She couldn't see anything remarkable, from the direction of the Red light. She then adjusted the lens to peep near the Grants. The blinds were still tightly drawn, and another light was upstairs. As she was scanning the perimeter of the house, she saw a young man from the back, he looked like her son, Matthew. He had the same wavy long hair, and body build being tall, and lean. Just like Matthew. He was going into the Grant home. Was this young man one of the voices that asked for help? She heard a male voice, although it sounded more like her friend Aaron. Heidi knew one thing for sure, things were not alright, and if she was a betting woman, she would bet that there are odd things occuring at the Grant house, which she was told, now houses the Merkels. "We see you Heidi," she heard a voice speaking faintly, it sounded like it was coming from the room down the hall. ""Do you know what we want", the voice called out again. "Who are you, and what are you doing in my home", " This is an invasion of privacy, you can't get away with that." Heidi said back to the voice. " We can get away, with whatever we want," " Are you really gonna stop us," the voice taunted. " In case you didn't know, we own the town, we can do what we want, and we want something from you," " If you are a smart woman, you will kindly give us what we want", the voice continues. Heidi ran down the hall and got her gun. She really didn't feel safe now. At least if anyone tries to come through the door, they will be met with good ol gunny. Heidi realized that the voices, even though they flooded her home, there was not anyone inside her home with her. Mimi for sure would have sniffed them out, and pulled them out of hiding. At that moment she heard Michael's car pull up out front. She ran over towards the front door, where she would await Michael. " What's going on dear, I tried to call you," Michael asked as he walked inside. "Michael,we gotta call 911, bolt up the door, was there anyone outside when you came in," Heidi asked nervously. " That cult I was in years back has been following me, they got the house bugged, they probably can hear us right now", Heidi said. "Do you know how ridiculous that sounds, why would the cult be following you, and what do you mean the house is bugged, you know I got that device that can tell if there is a bug or not, I can sweep it around the house. "I heard them speaking to me, telling me, they owned the town, and they could do whatever they wanted. "Dont you see, it's that elderly couple, over in the Grants old house. That is another thing , did you know what happened to the Grants, why did they move."Heidi threw at Michael. " Heidi, dear, I'm very concerned about you, now I told you I will go through and do a bug detector." Michael reassured her. "That way, if anything is in this house, that shouldn't be, we can find it and take it from there." " In the meantime, why don't you let me draw you a bath, you can have your Scentsy candles, in there with you, it would do you good", Michael pleaded with her. He had only got home, he hated to come home and find his wife, out of sorts, and struggling. He honestly doesn't know what he can do to help ease her anxiety. It would make it easier, if he himself could identify, the same things Heidi speaks of, but he can't. He has not seen or noted, any suspicious behaviors, he knows his wife struggles with mental illness, however, it seemed like for awhile she was in remission, and getting better. This frustrated Michael, being unable to attend properly to his wife's needs. "I don't want you running yourself ragged over imaginary neighbors, I'm drawing you a nice hot bath, and then I'm taking Mimi on her evening walk.", Michael stated to her. " I would like for you to just relax, and not worry, or peeping on our neighbors." " That's all we need, is for these peepers, to name you as a peeping Tom at them." Michael quickly added. " No good will come from looking at the neighbors house, through binoculars. Michael said. " Michael, you don't understand, I'm not crazy, or hallucinating." " There really is an invasion of privacy going on, and for whatever reason, I'm the only one who can see and hear it.", Heidi said. " If I didn't know any better, I would say this was deliberately being done, to make me look bad", she deduced. "Honey, do you know how ridiculous that sounds?", "Why would anyone care enough about you to go and do that.", "That would be looking for trouble, and I just don't see our neighbors taking that risk, just to make you look bad", Michael reasoned with her. "Well dammit, someone is harassing me right inside my home, taunting me, and even spying on me to see whether or not I pick up dog poop", she quickly added. "Whoever is doing this, told me they own the town, and they can do what they want.", "I don't know why they took a special interest in harassing me, perhaps I'm an easy target for them." Heidi said. "How am I gonna be able to help anyone, when I have no one to even help me!" Heidi exclaimed. " Honey, if I found out that someone was harassing you, and purposely doing these things to you, invading your privacy; you know I would kill them, I wouldn't allow anyone to do that to you for fun". Michael reassured her. "This isn't something you can stop, it's already happening Michael, and all I can do is stand here and tell you what I experienced, even if no one believes me," she added. "Honey, it's not that I don't believe you, but I have not heard, or seen the same things you claim are occurring.", " I haven't even seen these cars you keep talking about, or the old man in our yard, or this new family in the Grants house", "And so what if a new family did move in, that's what families do, they move into homes with their families," Michael added in frustration. " This isn't like that, this isn't just some nice family that moved into a new home, this is a group of seniors, that seem to have a smear campaign, and I seem to be the butt of their jokes." Heidi desperately pleaded with Michael. "Here, take one of these for your anxiety", Michael said as he handed her an Ativan pill for her nerves. "Take this, go lay down, and get some rest.", "I will see to it that Mimi goes for her walk, and I will use that time to check out things for myself." Michael stated. "We will figure this out,
