Betrayed
Alysa's POV The day remained fresh in my mind; I had just turned twenty and was excited to announce to my boyfriend that I was pregnant for him. He was the Alpha's son, and despite my status as a slave girl, he did everything in his power to protect me. When I first arrived at the palace, he was the first person I encountered, and since that day, we became inseparable. He promised to make me his Luna... What happened to those promises? He rejected me. Not only did he reject me, but he denied me and the child in my womb. "Father!!! I do not know her!! How come? How can someone like me, with royalty flowing in my blood, have something to do with a dirty slave like her!!! Mia, my mate, is the only woman that I have ever been with," his words cut through my skin, causing a deep wound of betrayal and heartbreak. I wanted to make him pay for what he had done to me, but how could I? I was banished immediately, never to be seen again in his pack. Yet, forgetting what he did to me was not an option. I am ready to use any tools, any device, any means, as long as he regrets what he did to me and our child. "Alysa! Alysa!" I heard my name from a distance. It was my only sister; she was coming toward my direction, and my heart wasn't ready for what I saw next. Alexia's POV My body was shaking, sweating profusely, panting heavily. I managed to grab my sister and fell into her lap. "Where is my child?" my sister yelled at me. I flinched; she roared with so much anger. My sister seemed to have changed since she returned from the palace she used to serve five years ago. She was now bitter, no longer treating me with the same love. I miss that, Alysa. "I didn't come back with him," I stuttered, and she grabbed me by the ear. She was furious and didn't let me speak before she grabbed a nearby stick and hit my legs with it. "What do you mean you didn't come back with my son?" my sister yelled again. "I couldn't... I was attacked on my way back home by the villagers, and they would have attacked him too," I replied, fighting back my tears. I was doing it to protect her child. In our pack clan, it's forbidden to have a child without a mate to take responsibility, so her child was an outcast. We were all outcasts now that her child was with us. Whatever the people chose to do with us was what they would do, and so I was constantly beaten up and bullied because my sister always stayed hidden, and so did her son. Yet, I also suffered deeply. Whenever I came home, my sister wouldn't appreciate my suffering to ensure herself and her child had a stable meal. But do I blame her? No, I don't. I blame the ruthless alpha who made her this way. If only he hadn't messed with her emotions, my sister would have never turned out this way. "Where is he now?" she asked, paying no attention to the wounds I had sustained while trying to bring food back home for herself and her son. "He's at Lyon's..." I stuttered. "Who is Lyon?" she asked, uninterested. "My friend, the carpenter. He was the one who helped us when the chiefs invaded our home. Do you remember?" I asked, and she sighed. "I don't care. Go back and bring my son home or else..." my sister warned, and I looked at her in disappointment. "Alysa... Your son is in good hands. I cannot go out there again. Look at my skin, look at my face. I barely escaped and came home safely. These people pointed their hands at me and labeled me a relative to the bastard. What do you think they would do to me?" "How dare you?" my sister interrupted, and her hands landed on my cheeks. She didn't even let me finish before she slapped me. "Did you just call my son a bastard?" she screamed at me. She was doing it again, what she normally did whenever she was provoked. She started to scream, yelling, and crying even louder than me, who was beaten up by hefty men and women. "That's not what I meant... I wouldn't call my niece a bastard, and you know that," I said, trying to get her on her feet, but she quickly pushed me away. "Go away! Get out of my sight! I do not want your sympathy. I don't want you anywhere near me! Go out there and bring my son back home! Now!" she screamed, pushing me outside. She shut the door, and I just stood there. This wasn't the sister I grew up knowing. She used to be my mother and father figure since our parents died. I remember vividly when she was sold into slavery by my uncle. She promised me that she was going to come home to me, and that we would be happy again. But when she finally came back, she came shattered and heartbroken. The only thing she cared about was her son and getting revenge on the beast that made her this way. In her letters, she used to tell me how much she loved me and how much she wanted to see me happy. I used to wish that she would come home soon, but now she was a totally different person. Watching my every step, I moved faster than my legs could carry me. If the villagers saw me, it was going to be another nightmare. I finally reached Lyon's hut and barged in. I took a deep breath immediately upon entering. It was as though I was released from a cage. "Alexia! What's wrong?" he asked, paying attention to my wounds and scars. "Where is Jamie?" I asked, panting for breath. "Who did this to you?" Lyon asked. "Who else?" I sighed. "Alysa?" "No... not her. The villagers were just using me as an instrument for fun again. You know how they behave towards outcasts," I scoffed. It wasn't a new feeling to me. Since they hardly saw my sister and her son outside, I was the one who suffered everything. I was the caretaker of the family, which was the only reason I left the house. I needed to provide, although my sister was the eldest. "Sit... Let me treat your wound," Lyon grabbed my wrist. "No... There is no need for that. Is there any way you could transport us without the villagers seeing us? Alyssa demands I bring Jamie home!!!" I said. "Didn't you tell her he was fast asleep and safe with me?" Lyon asked. "I did..." "So she didn't do anything about your state, and she sent you outside again... Alexia, how long are you going to live like this?" Lyon asked. He wasn't in support of the way my sister treated me like trash, and yet I never retaliated or tried to stop her. "It's not her fault," I sighed. "Then whose fault is it?" "His fault... that beast."
