Who Died And Made You King?

Evangeline POV He had the guts to lock me in a room? I wondered who gave him the right? Don’t people ever learn? You can’t force people to stay or do what they don’t want to do. People are stubborn, I'm the worst of all and I don’t like being forced to do anything against my will.  I found myself becoming bored very quickly and decided to be noisy. The room was typical, it was a plain white with the stuff you could find at a hotel minus a phone. A knock brought me back to reality.  “Luna, Alpha sat me outside. Whatever you need, I’ll get it for you.” “I want out of here.” There was a pause as if the person hesitant, clearly torn on what to do.  “I’m sorry, Luna. I wish I could but I can’t.” With that, they stopped talking. My eyes wandered around the room seeking freedom but found none. I noticed two other doors. My bet, one lead to the closet, the other to the bathroom. I took my thoughts into action, as I checked both doors. I was right, one was the closet with no luck, the other to the bathroom. The bathroom itself had a window on the other hand.  The window which lead to my freedom, I smiled a victory smile, slowly walking to my destination. I unlocked the window before pushing up, only for it to not move. Those beasts thought about everything!   I searched the cupboards and drawers looking for anything long, sharp and flat. Something related to a knife, I thought opening the last door, freezing but only to find nothing and quickly losing my hope.  Windows are meant to be broken anyway. I searched again, this time for something heavy to break a window. I  made my way back into the bathroom, giving up on finding nothing. I checked out the window, noticing that I didn't have a swimming pool underneath. I took a step back counting to three before taking a deep breath, aiming and slamming my hand into the glass.  The glass shock but didn’t crack as sharp chronic pain ached through my knuckles forcing me to rethink my decision. I begin to wonder why I was so stupid to use my left hand instead of my right.  I took a deep breath before deciding that I needed to try again, this time with something a little different. I searched the area once again, looking for something bigger. My eyes skipped over the useless items until they landed on a hairbrush. Now, this could work. I quickly made my way over to the window again before slamming the window one more time. The glass broke but only in one area, but it could be heard for miles.  I didn’t take the time to see if anyone heard anything and broke out the sharp pieces. Glancing out the window, I started to panic. I was almost three stories up, how can I make the jump without hurting myself? Worried but determined, I decided to throw myself out the window, feet first. I waited for the impact, and it quickly came as I couldn’t manage to stay on my feet as the pain pulled me down.  How am I going to getaway? My leg hurt, and I haven’t put any pressure on it yet. I conceived myself to get going by not thinking but just running. Not even halfway and my chest felt like I ran a marathon. I wanted to save my energy in case I had to outrun people or in my case beasts. Hearing a sound in the distance made me forget everything and pushed off with every ounce of strength I could handle.  The blood pumping through my vines were enough to force my body to start to shake. The wind in my hair was enough to send me flying back if I were pushed. The only sound that was heard from miles was the leaves crunching under my feet and the uneven breathing that betrayed me, I would be screwed if they came after me, I kept on running even when my entire being wanted to stop. It was if it was hours when in all reality it was just a few moments before I noticed any change.  I sighed in relief, happy for once seeing the school building in the distance. Some part of me was happy to know that they weren’t that far away from here. I don’t get it though, why would the humans build a school near the woods which hold the supernatural?  Maybe my theories were correct. Either the teachers are beasts maybe a few vampires, to brainwash us into thinking they’re dangerous. The government could make up a story which was proven wrong by me-or maybe the government just made a guess.  Maybe humans were just stupid. That’s the only reasonable answer. They throw around laws and the government power, but do they really understand what they’re doing? This world has been divided into multiple sides. There is no in-between.  Maybe the world would be better if we actually sat down and talked instead of acting out. I was brought out of my ideas once I ended up at the doors. Maybe they wanted the school near the woods so that we could ‘slow’ them down. So many different reasons but will we ever know which are correct? I walked up, and through the front door taking a quick look at the clock to the right side. Just by the time, I knew where my class would be. I made a right turn, making my way back to the same classroom as before. I walked back into the classroom. She was still teaching the same stuff and my stuff laid untouched on the same desk. They looked shocked that I, myself was still alive and standing here.  “Hey, she’s alive. Not dead by the supernatural.” The very annoying Nate spoke once again.  “Hey, he’s alive. Not dead from his own mouth.” He growled out in defeat making my mind run with more theories. Maybe Nate was actually a beast.  “Anyways you guys are brainwashed. I couldn’t find the vampire king but I found the beasts. They aren’t deadly as you guys make them out to be but they are,” I paused mid-sentence thinking of the right words. “over-protective and weird.”  “They’re still deadly.” The teacher declared once again. I came to learn that it was always her way or the highway.  “If they were deadly, I would be dead by now. Trust me, they are nothing but sweethearts.”  I grabbed the bottle of foundation and the applicator out of my bag before throwing some more makeup on the mark trying to cover it up, I wondered by I even cared. The mark eventually would get warm and start to itch, ending in me having to apply more.  Moments later, you could hear howls in the background. They were loud and clear causing everyone to freeze. Nate was the first to speak. “What did you do?” His voice was full of worry, it was very clear. I took a quick glance at him, his brown eyes were wider than normal. A smirk made my way to my face.  “Why did you have to poke the bear? Why did you cause trouble with the beasts?”  “I didn’t make them mad, just furious,” I stated, picking at my grey nail polish. Acting like it was the most interesting thing in the world.  “Their howls say differently.” The teacher pointed out. “What did you do?” Nate questioned once again, only louder. “I just escaped. They probably figured it out.”  “Knowing you, Evangeline. You did something else. We all know you. So what was it?” Nate asked once again.  “I broke a window.”  “What! Are you crazy?” The teacher screeched. I gave a quick glance, noticing that her face looked a little red. My only guess was that her blood pressure was high, and might pass out in any given second.  “What? Windows are meant to be broken.” I noticed that a classmate in front of me turned around. “Since when are windows meant to be broken?”  “Since always.” I replied before she shook her head, turning back around in her seat.  “Answering the teacher’s question, she walked into a forest filled with the supernatural. She’s insane.” Finally, he actually agrees. I watched as he dragged his hand down his face, it was something straight out of a movie.  “Stop acting.” “Me? Me acting! I’m not acting Evangeline! Unlike you, I really don’t want to die today.” Nate screamed on top of his lungs. “Wow. You sound like a girl right now.”  “Well, because of you. We’re all going to die!”  Nate, who sounded more like the teacher at this point, stood up looking out the windows. “I really don’t care right now! We are all going to die!” Nate spoke not taking his eyes off the woods. As if he would be able to balk anything from leaving those woods with just his eyes.  “We aren’t going to die.” “Yes, we will.” “If they wanted to kill us, I wouldn’t have ever made it back to the school.” I stated the obvious.  “Maybe they locked you in a room for a reason.” The teacher yelled.  “And what reason would that be?”  “So they could eat you for dinner!” Nate put out there. This conversation seemed to take a turn for the worst. “Why would they want to eat me for dinner?”  “You’re right, the only thing they would get out of you is fruits and vegetables.”  “I eat more than just fruits and vegetables, you idiot.” “Are you sure? That’s what being a vegetarian is about.” “You vegetarian hater.”   “At least I don’t hate meat, Evangeline.” “Nate, I don’t hate meat. I just don’t like to eat meat.”  “Anyways, if the beasts don’t kill you first, vegetarianism will. I give three years, you don’t get enough protein or iron.” “How about this, Nate. Being a vegetarian is my decision, not yours. I didn’t ask for your opinion so why don’t you stay out of it?” “I’m in it because it affects me at lunch. When I eat meat, I feel like you’re judging me.” “Bullcrap, we been down this path before. You can eat whatever you want, just don’t force me too. You have your life, I have mine. Also, in order to be a vegetarian, you have to do your research. I’ll live just as long as you, maybe even longer.” “What about protein or iron?” “Well, for one that’s my problem. Tuna, cheese, peanut butter, eggs, beans, nuts, seeds, and a whole entire list out there. I’m fine.” “You can’t eat dairy or tuna.” “That’s a vegan. Look up the difference.” “Okay, Nate and Evangeline we kind of have a bigger problem on our hands than the vegan thing.” The teacher spoke calmly. “What is the problem we’re talking about? The only problem I sense here is you people not knowing the bullcrap from reality.”  “Not dying.”  “Plus we know the difference.”  “Oh please, you can’t tell the difference between your right and left.”  The door slammed open while people rushed in, but not just any people. Nate panicking, his breathing increased before hitting the high and passed out. The thump was heard around the room as the people turned around, no one seemed to worry about him.  The beasts, and Alpha Kevin Taylor. His eyes met with mine as a smile made its way to his face. Of course, he couldn’t have left me alone. I already knew his secret, he wouldn’t let me go. I began to regret every life decision up to this point.    “You Evangeline, are coming with me.” I glared at him before doing the thing I was good at. Opening up my mouth once again.  “Who died and made you king?” Kevin laughed before walking closer to me. He placed his hands on my desk, he leaned down so that we were face to face.  “No one died, I was just born.”
