Born With His Tattoo

The humans approached the supernatural, freezing the fight that was bound to break out at any given moment. The three different groups stood in one circle, each wanting just one thing or should I say person-Evangeline. The beasts wanted her because she was their only chance at surviving. The vampires, because she was family and humans. Well, they wanted her dead. Silenced remained on the field as each group looked at the other two. No one made a move as they knew it would go down in history as they wanted the other to take the lead.  “We want the girl and we’ll leave you guys alone.” The humans declared for the first time not realizing the fact that simple statement would start a war. Evangeline pulled her hand from Kevin hoping it would protect.  Wyatt, the vampire king, knowing who they meant, charged at the humans. Evangeline, realizing this, ran to stop him as her feet had a mind of their own. She quickly reached out to grab a hold of his arm before shoving him as hard as she could to get Wyatt to rethink his decision, or the consequences at least.  Evangeline, now remained in the middle, the way she’s always been these last seventeen years. Unable to avoid it, she remained there.  “Evangeline,” Kevin called out catching Evangeline’s attention. “You now stand in the middle with a decision, one that has been long over do.”  “You can go to the left, leave the beasts and live a free uncomplicated life. They’ll keep the humans away and even the beasts. You can move on and not have to worry about the supernatural drama. You can live the life you never had and not have to deal with the stress of leading.”  Behind Evangeline a team formed, a team that set their differences aside, one of the vampires and beasts. The sound of leaves that were crushed under their feet were enough to caught everyone’s attention as they all turned towards them.  “Behind you is a team that’ll get you out of these woods and away from these humans. They’ll get you a new life.”  She weighed her decisions but wondered what to do. She wondered if it was really worth, leaving the only people in her life that really cared for her. That wanted her in their life. She could go by herself and probably not get very far or she could leave with the supernatural and restart her life. Or she could stay here with the supernatural, where she was always meant to be.  “Or you can go with the humans, which you have known as sucide. But you can give up on everything that you have fought for. You can give up on everyone.” The sound of Kevin’s voice faded into the distance as he waited impatiently. Kevin, knowing she wouldn’t say anything spoke again. “Evangeline, you have to make it now.” She hesitated for a few moments, no doubt overthinking her decision about the decision.
