Evangeline's POV
He looked at me as if I was insane, that was true but he didn’t need to know that.
“Why? Wouldn’t life be boring?” He questioned letting go of my arm after a while; he finally taking a step back, giving me room to breathe.
“No, I understand life too much.” He listened only to nod a moment later, before laughing.
“You can’t really understand life.” He pointed out.
“How so?”
“Life isn’t meant to be understood.”
“No, it is. Once you understand life than you can begin to understand yourself.”
He remained silent as if he was deep in thought. He could have been, but then again I’m the only one that overthinks everything.
“You like being independent?” He questioned making me wonder why he would ask it in the first place.
“Yeah, I mean who doesn’t?” He nodded and smiled like he knew something I didn’t.
“Not all girls do,” Nate added, picking up random stuff in the background before setting it back down in the wrong place. Getting annoyed, I begin to wonder why I brought him with me.

“What?” Kevin questioned, pulling me out of my trance of staring at the doors that came into his office.
“You should take those doors out and add in those glamour french doors instead.”
“What are those?” Kevin questioned, clearing not understanding where I was coming from.
“You know those doors that castles usually have. They are the ones that seem to always be two doored and they like to touch the ceiling and everything. Now those are pretty.”
“Evangeline,” Nate called out, almost dropping the book in his hands, earning a glare from Kevin. “You are off-topic missy.”
“I can’t help what I’m thinking!.” I gave him one last glance before turning around, pulling Nate behind. “Why do you think I want to marry myself?”
“Evangeline, where do you think you are going?” Kevin demanded an answer, not paying any attention to what I just said but instead focused on where I was going.
“To the best place on earth, don’t worry I’m not going far.”
Just to the library, I thought. I pushed through his office doors, pausing to look both ways before deciding to go left. Yeah, maybe I should ask for some help. But on the other hand, I did make a perfect exit
