The door opened and Eros's figure emerged from the darkness.
I jumped up from the armchair and ran to hug him. I knew we were upset when he left, but I was too afraid he wouldn't return and that our last conversation might have been a fight.
"Well, I didn't think anyone would be awake waiting" he murmured against my hair, then placed a soft kiss on it.
Eros was one of those men for whom a small gesture like a kiss on the head was incredibly meaningful.
"I'm sorry we argued," I whispered against his chest. He gently pushed me back and looked me straight in the eyes.
The moonlight streamed through the glass door, and even though it was dark, we could still see each other.
