Chapter 17

Recap: After meeting up to go to the mall, Carmen and Rebecca have an argument, Carmen shows Becca how she feels about her not spending enough time together, since Alex came along,

and under the strong influence of anger, Carmen speeds very dangerously resulting in you probably guessed it: a car accident.

I try to open my eyes but I see black and hear yelling voices, they sound familiar but I don't know who they are and then I hear a slight heart monitor?

Where am I? What happened? I still faintly hear yelling and crying and I have this throbbing pain in my head and most of all my ribs and limbs.

I try to focus on the voices and one sounds like Ashton? Maybe Alex? The crying and muffled speaking sounds like Carmen? and I put the pieces in my head with three, possible scenarios: I'm in a hospital, I'm dreaming, Or I'm dead, definitely dead.

But what explains the pain, dead people, don't feel pain, or do they?

The yelling makes my head hurt worse.

"You wrecked the car and nearly killed her because she didn't have much time for you, your lucky if see even lives to look at you."

That sounded awfully a lot like Alex, then I hear crying, Alex continues "But look at you, you walked, away with a few bruises and you caused the damn acciedent! I might never hear my girlfriend's voice ever again because you put her in a f*****g coma!"

Yep definitely Alex, I've never heard him this livid before.

"Dude, just leave her alone I'm angry because I might not ever see my sister again but you don't see me yelling at Carmen like that, and it's not good for Becca's health."

That's Ashton. No doubt, but it all came back to me I was in a coma, caused by Carmen.

"Guys can you give me a minute alone with her, please?"

Alex asked and I heard mumbles of reply then a door close. I felt pressure on my hand and soft lips on my forehead.

"I'm so sorry baby, if you had to hear that, it's just that, it pains me to know that I might not ever see your beautiful eyes again, or hear your soft voice, I love you and I can't let you go, please wake up baby."

I feel a wetness on my cheek and it occurred to me that Alex is crying, and it pains me more than my probably broken ribs.

I try to do something to show him that I'm here but I can't and it pains me.

"Rebecca, do something show me that your here, that you hear me."

I try to move my hand that is placed in his, I hear a laugh.

"Rebecca, open your eyes for me, sweetheart." I do and it was worth the effort because I get the reward of his beautiful eyes, staring at me. "I love you too Alex, more than anything."

He kisses me, and then I feel it, the actual love he has for me in that delicate, sweet kiss.

Chapter 18:

"It's not good for her health if you keep kissing her."

A doctor stated, we both jumped apart and I smiled sheepishly.

"I have to run a few tests but before I do, that your mom wants to see you."

The doctor then leaves, and my mom comes in and I start crying again, it feels like I haven't seen her in forever.

"Sweetie I've missed you! You've been in a coma for about a month, you had me worried sick-"

I hold up a hand to stop her,

"Alex, can we-" he cuts me off nodding in understanding, he kisses my forehead then leaves.

Then it hits me.

I've been in a coma for a month?

Mom must've been worried sick and Alex and Ashton, but Carmen she must've been horrible along with the guilt trip.

I'm not mad at Carmen at all. I love her she's my best friend, besides it was my fault too, I didn't make time for her.

My mom hugs me tightly,and I hug her back with the same force.

"I love you baby." My mom whispers in my ear.

"I love you too, mom." I feel wetness on my neck and it occurs to me that she is crying, and I cry too for like the fifth time today.

"I want to see Carmen."

"What?" Alex says and stops playing with my hair.

"I want to see Carmen,you heard me." I said starting to get up but he holds me down.

"No standing. Doctors orders." Alex smirks.

"That's okay I'll just text her." I smirk.

"Not if I take your phone."

"Well then I'll just call the nurse."

"You wouldn't." He grins.

"Allleeeexxxx." I whine.

"Beeecccaaa." He whines

I press the nurse button, on the little remote thingy, and not even five seconds later a pretty, young, timid nurse comes in.

"What's the problem, you called."

She says looking prepared.

"He won't give me my phone." I pointed to Alex and he smirked winking at the nurse who blushes and I glare at him.

"Well the radiation in the phone is not good for your health." She says and Alex stifles a laugh.

"Then why do you have a phone." I asked for sure knowing she had a phone.

"I don't." She mumbled.

"Lies, anyways can you call Carmen to visit me and kick Alex out for two days?"

I smirk and Alex looks like he could cry.

"Sure."

She says then leaves.

"Babe you wouldn't do that." He says coming closer and I back away from him, well as far as I can on this surprisingly comfy bed.

"Just did." I smirk.

"I'm so sorry, I was mad and, I'm just so so so so so so sorry." She says and I laugh.

"It's okay Carmen you didn't mean to, or did you?" I joke.

"No! No. I didn't mean it." I chuckle a little.

"I know Carmen, and if it's time you we're asking for I'll give you time. Carmen you're my best friend, you should be treated like one and I love you."

She smiles. "I love you too."
