Chapter 2

"Hello, Mr.Arun." The Deputy Commissioner said as Arun entered the room.

"yes, sir." Arun saluted as he stood still noticing the SkyTV President sitting on a chair.

"You may know Mr.Ranganathan. He is the President of SkyTV." the Deputy Commissioner, Thileep said.

"Yes... I noticed him. He had dropped Kavya off today." Ranganathan said.

Arun was confused about what Kavya's boss was doing in D.C's room.

"Oh..So you know the girl already. very nice." D.C. Thileep said.

"Yes, sir. She is Inspector Gautham's sister," he said.

"ok. so Mr.Ranganathan has asked police support for the reporter and the crew to go to the dangerous Emerald Forest." Thileep said.

"And so, I would like you to join them in this adventure." The DC said as Arun mentally smiled.

"Yes Sir," he said.

Kavya and the others were waiting for the police that was coming along to join them.

"Where is that police...we are getting late and that guy is wasting our time," Kavya said.

"Kavya...calm down girl," Maya said.

"That police officer is going to turn into a cake batter when he gets here," she said.

"Bro...cool...just relax," JJ said.

"shut up JJ. you know it's my dream to go there and I worked for months to get permission from Mr. Ranganathan," she said as a van stopped near them.

Kavya got in the van to give that police officer a piece of her mind when she realized the familiar voice.

She paused as soon as her eyes fell on Arun who was sitting in the passenger seat next to the driver.

"What the heck are you doing here Arun?" she asked as he simply smiled at her.

"Arun..answer. you deaf one," she said as he looked into her eyes.

"Are you Arun or his twin brother who is mute?" she asked.

"Get in." he finally said as she made a face at him.

"Hello, sir... what is your name?" Maya asked in a flirting tone.

Kavya glared at her and answered before he could say anything.

"His name is Arun and he is already taken," she says as she glared at him this time as he smiles at her.

"Woah... hold on. who said I was taken? I am still a single man and I am just 27." he said looking at Maya who looked at him dreamily.

"Well...I..meant...you... nevermind," she said as he smirks at her.

Soon, the group reached the forest. Kavya's eyes widened as they arrived. Arun who had noticed it smiled at her.

They got down from the van and got their camping materials to take off exploring.

"Listen, People," Arun said loudly gaining everyone's attention.

"I want you all to stay together and Kavya, don't you dare go away on your own and leaving the rest of us to worry for you. This is a forest and it is definitely not your house for you to know your places."Arun said as Kavya glared at him.

"Better just shut up Arun," Kavya said.

"Kavya... that's no way to talk to a police officer... and especially a handsome one like Arun." Maya said.

"Maybe, you should shut up as well Maya," Kavya said.

"Make me, "Maya argued back looking at Arun to see if he was looking at her but to her disappointment, he was smiling but looking in the opposite direction.

"That is enough. One of you shut up. Maya, will you please be quiet? Asking kavya is no use anyways." Arun said as Kavya glared at him and Maya looked at him with a smile present on her eyes.

Kavya walked past him as they reached a campsite. A small house made just for visitors. They opened it and found it empty. Kavya was the first one to enter and Arun ran behind her.

suddenly a sound came in disturbing Kavya's peace mood. she held Arun's hand and looked in the direction where the sound came from.

Arun looked back at her with a partially surprised look. She pulled him with her as she approached the sound.

"Ey... Kavya. Stop," Arun said.

"Stop being a scaredy cat and come with me," she said as he looked at her in disbelieve.

Kavya reached near the shadow and suddenly the shadow moved and forced her to scream and hold on to Arun's shirt.

"Meow," a cat Meowed.

"Ms.BBC is scared of a Cat. she is a Scaredy-cat," He said as he started laughing.

"Nice one, Aru, " Maya said as Kavya glared at her.

"What did you call him?" Kavya asked.

"Aru," Maya said.

"oh..his name is not short already so you are taking one letter off and giving him a nickname? you don't have any rights to give him a nickname." Kavya argued as Arun just smiled at her.

"Ok, we get it. He is your bro's best friend but that doesn't mean you have all the rights. also, it's not like you two are dating right?" Maya asked as JJ got annoyed now.

"Would you two stop arguing about a guy and focus of your work. Why did we come here?" he asked as Kavya backed off and went to look around the house.

"Ewww," Kavya said as she opened the restroom.

"It smells, "Maya said as she went away from the restroom.

"what the heck girls, Just clean it or ask a custodian to clean it. They come here ones a week to clean these." Arun said.

Kavya went inside a room and found 2 beds away from each other. To her surprise, the Beds were huge compared to the rest of the things in the house.

"Maya and Kavya can sleep on one and Arun and I can take the other," JJ said.

"No way am I sleeping with her." the two girls said in unison.

"ok, then what do you want us to do? oh, so one of you can sleep on the floor." Arun said,

"No way... Kavya can sleep with JJ and could sleep on this bed." Maya said.

"and where will you sleep? on the floor? in that case, I will sleep with Arun."Kavya said.

"Who said I was sleeping on the floor? I am sleeping here right next to Arun." Maya said.

"No, you may not," Kavya said in irritation.

" Great," Arun said as he wanted to annoy Kavya.

Just as planned, Kavya stared at him with her eyes piercing into his.

"Then it's all set," JJ said.

"Shut up... No," Kavya said.

"Go ahead sleep with anybody. Why should I care? You know what? I will sleep on the sofa outside." Kavya said with sad eyes that made Arun's heart melt.

"I was joking Kavya..." Arun said as he walked toward her.

She sat down as Arun sat down next to her.

"Get lost Arun," she said.

"Why, Is my darling mad at me? " He asked. He only has called her darling when she needed the most support. Her thoughts flew to the first time he called her a darling and then to when he had met her for the first time.
