*The Mansion* Rae is a 28-year-old CEO of the Lawson company, which is one of the most successful organizations in the world. He inherited the company from his father, who died a year ago in a car accident with his mother. Rae, an only child, took over the company after his father's death. His father had trained him from a young age to be his successor, and had not shown him much affection or love. Rae grew up to be a young man who focused only on his duties, and did not concern himself with his emotions. He saw his fate as tied to the company, and nothing else. It was a cool evening, Rae was seated in the back seat of his car on his way home after a long day at work. His eyes focused on his iPad, monitoring the condition of the company, when all of a sudden the car screeched to a halt. He raised his head and looked right at his driver “do you have a death wish?” “I..I am so sorry sir but she just jumped out of nowhere” his driver tried to explain. “Who?!” Rae asked, looking out on the road. There she was, a mysterious young woman lying unconscious right in front of his car. The woman's body was motionless on the pavement, her long silver hair splayed out around her head. She looked so young, not more than a teenager. The driver had gotten out of the car and was kneeling next to the woman, frantically trying to wake her up. Rae stepped out of the car and walked towards the unconscious young lady. He felt a pang of anger as he looked at her. "Did you hit her?” Rae asked, folding his arms. “I.. I am not sure.. I swear she jumped out of nowhere”. “Hey..hey..” Rae slightly kicked Ciara’s unconscious body. “is..she dead?” his driver asked, trembling. “Come pick her up, we’ll take her to the hospital. She looks pale”. ***************************************** Ciara slowly opened her eyes, taking in her surroundings. The room seemed strange, and she couldn't quite figure out where she was. It turned out she was in a hospital bed. And standing before her was a well-built young man, tall with brunette hair slicked back, the most beautiful brown eyes, a perfectly structured nose, and a jawline that was just on point. The young man was having a conversation with another guy in a white coat. Rae, with his arms folded, asked, "What do you mean, doc?" He tilted his head slightly to the side. The doctor replied, "What I'm trying to say is, she doesn't seem to be injured or anything. She's perfectly fine... almost too perfect, if you ask me. I've never seen anyone in such excellent health." "I don't think she fainted from shock. It's more like she was just sleeping," the doctor said. "You mean to tell me that this crazy woman was just sleeping in the middle of the road and I wasted 30 minutes of my precious time bringing her here?!" Rae exclaimed. "I'm leaving!" "No, you can't leave," the doctor said firmly. "Until we confirm her identity or contact her family, she is your responsibility." "What?! I didn't even hit her," Rae protested. "But you brought her in, so yes, you're responsible for her," the doctor insisted. "You don't understand, I don't have time for this..." Rae started to say, but was interrupted by a voice from the bed. "Excuse me?" Ciara said, struggling to sit up. "Can you get this thing off of me?" she asked, gesturing to the hospital gown she was wearing. "Good, she's awake!" Rae said with relief as he approached Ciara's bed. "Hello!, can you tell me your name?" he demanded, loudly. "Where are you from, and what the hell were you doing in the middle of the road?". Ciara looked at him, a little dazed, trying to make sense of what had happened. "Hey, you can't talk to my patient like that," the doctor said firmly. "Please leave the room and let me do my job," he added, his tone leaving no room for argument. Rae glared at the doctor, and then looked at Ciara, who was looking confused and a little frightened. With a sigh, he walked out of the room, muttering to himself. Ciara looked up at the doctor, and something about him inspired her trust. He was good looking and well-built, with bright blue eyes and short blonde hair. He had an aura of kindness and strength about him, and his voice was reassuring. "I'm Saint...Saint Anderson," he said gently. "You can trust me. I'm here to help you. Can you tell me what happened before you ended up here?" “I..my name is Ciara Athda, daughter of the alpha king Athda, and I am the Crown princess of Unar, the rightful heir to the throne..I..my uncle wiped out my entire family and I barely escaped, I have... I..I have to find the allegiance! The book...wh..where’s the book?” Ciara jumped out of bed searching hopelessly for the book. Saint watched her with a mixture of concern and confusion. Something must have happened to her, he thought, but he couldn't tell what. Her story was fantastical and unbelievable, but her emotions were real and raw. "Ciara," he said gently, trying to get her attention. "I know you're upset, but you need to rest. I'll help you find the book, I promise. But you need to relax, okay?" “But I’m fine... I’m perfectly fine..there’s nothing wrong with me”. “Yeah, I know that, but you still need to get some rest.. just give me a minute, I’m going to go look for your book, okay?” He gets up. “I’ll be right back so you, just rest a little”. Saint leaves and goes to look for Rae. Rae was pacing around the waiting room furiously. He saw the doc coming so he ran up to him. “Look! I can’t sit here one more minute! I have an early morning meeting and it’s ten times more important than whatever it is that’s going on here, okay? How much do you need, huh? Name your price.. anything for you to let me go!”. “Keep your voice down. This is a hospital!” Saint said with the utmost disgust. “You are a crappy person, Mr RAE Lawson! You do realise that, right?. I do not care if you have a meeting with the president.. That is none of my business. My business is to make sure the young lady in that room is well taken care of, okay?.. Now listen, she has no clear memory of who she is. Our guess is she must have suffered from a very terrible trauma so we need to keep an eye on her.. although she seems medically fine, so we can’t keep her here in the hospital, so you have to take her home with you.. she’ll be under your care until we are sure she’s fully recovered okay?”. “Whatever doc I do not care, if it means taking in a total psychotic stranger so you can get off my hair, then so be it.. I’ll have my assistant see to her comfort, so you have nothing to worry about, okay?”. Saint was taken aback by Rae’s response. He hadn't expected him to agree so readily. "Are you sure you're okay with that?" he asked. "I mean, I appreciate your willingness to help, but are you really willing to take on the responsibility of someone who's clearly struggling mentally?" Rae shrugged, his expression unreadable. "It's not a big deal," he said nonchalantly. "She's your patient, I'm just providing the resources. She's not my problem." Saint, concerned about the cold way Rae was talking about Ciara."You better not try anything foolish, I'll be keeping an eye on you, and I'll come over to check on her progress," Saint warned. "I'm not a monster, doc. Your little patient is safe with me. Urgh! Can I go now?" Rae replied, clearly annoyed. "Yeah, sure... after you sign a few papers. And of course, you can take the patient with you," Saint responded. Rae rolled his eyes. "Oh, and her name is Ciara. She might say some weird things you might not understand, but I need you to be patient with her." Saint added. Rae scoffed, "Of course, she's crazy. I shouldn't be surprised if she spewed out nonsense." He walked out on Dr. Saint. Saint sighed and turned to walk away, but then he remembered the book Ciara mentioned. He turned back towards Rae's direction, but Rae was already gone. "It's fine, I'll ask him when I go to check up on the patient," he muttered to himself, and walked away. ************ Rae rode back home in silence with Ciara by his side. He didn’t ask any questions or acknowledge her presence. As the car sped along the streets, the silence was thick and heavy. Ciara could feel the animosity radiating from Rae, and she wondered what she had done to make him dislike her so much. When they finally arrived at Rae's mansion, the head servant came running as soon as he heard them pull over, opening the car door for his master and welcoming him with a smile. "Welcome back, young sir," he said. Rae simply nodded in response. Ciara was then escorted into the mansion, she was amazed by the interior decor. It felt as though she had stepped into a royal palace, with everything being so elegant and graceful. he led her inside without a word. Ciara took in the opulence of the place, the expensive paintings and the lavish furniture. "Wow," she breathed, her eyes wide. "Hey... hey... hey!!" Rae snapped at Ciara, who was admiring a vase with beautiful drawings of flowers on it. "Don't touch tha... in fact, don't touch anything. Everything you see here is worth millions, okay? So, hands off." Ciara looked confused, standing there and staring at Rae. She wondered why he was being so strict about it. “ what are you looking at?" Rae asked as he walked up to Ciara, who stood still, staring into Rae's eyes. Now Rae was standing right in front of Ciara, staring down at her. "What... are... you... looking... at?" he asked, his voice intense. The servants were shivering with fear, but also astonished by Ciara's boldness. No one dared to look into the young master's eyes because they knew all too well it was full of rage and anger. "Are you deaf now?" Rae asked, still looking down at Ciara. Ciara smiled and took a step back. "I'm sorry," she said, still smiling. Rae's face showed confusion, and it was clear that he had no idea what he had gotten himself into. He could sense that things weren't going to end well for him. “Your room is upstairs,” Rae said to Ciara, his tone curt. “I'll have the servants show you around and bring you whatever you need.” Ciara nodded, not sure what to say. The servant led her up the grand staircase and down a long hallway, pointing out the various rooms along the way. When they reached the end of the hall, he opened a door to reveal a large bedroom, decorated in rich fabrics and soft colors. “This will be your room,” he said, gesturing for her to enter.
