David’s POV
King Leonard and I talked for nearly an hour, but nothing could be resolved. He knew his daughter was wrong to behave so badly towards the kitchen staff, among others. King Leonard understood why I had to reject his daughter. He certainly didn’t like it, though, and urged me to reconsider.
“Lucy is young!” The sad king reminds me more than once. “She can’t even accept your rejection until she comes of age in 2 and a half years! She might change in that amount of time.”
“She might, or she might not,” I reply with a sigh. “I don’t plan to wait around to see whether she does or not, though. I will look around for a chosen mate. In fact, I stand by my earlier offer for Isabelle.”
“Well, I suppose you could ask Izzy’s opinion on the matter,” Leonard agrees halfheartedl
