Five Feet

My mate opened the door and I moved a bit away from Del so she won't see me and slam the door again.

"Hey." Del said with a bright smile waiting for her to say something but was met with silence.

"Well my friends and I are having a sleep over, we were thinking if you'd like to join us, it will be tons of fun." Del beamed. After a few seconds of silence I heard the door slam shut, Del turned to me with an angry expression on her face.

"What?" I asked innocently.

"Well your mate is just rude!" She said and spun on her heels leaving me here looking like a fool, I stood outside my room feeling frustrated, what do I do? How will I get her to open up to me?

"How about distancing yourself from her? Give her some space to breathe." I heard someone say. I turned to see who it was and I was face to face with Beta Leon.

"Hey," I greeted "we haven't even spoken yet....I don't even know what to do, I don't know why she is so frightened of me, are we not mates?" I said feeling bad about my mates behaviour towards me.

"She has been through a lot, she has been violated, tormented and abused, it's not only you she is frightened of, she's scared of everyone because of what she's been through." He said pocketing his hands and I let out a deep sigh.

"I guess." I said about to hang my head when I remembered the words from the book always walk with your head held high I changed my demeanor, I straightened my back and held my head high but my sad expression was still there, I think I'm supposed to hide my emotions too but it's hard, I'll need to work on that later

"Distance yourself from her for a week and tell your sister to not try so hard to get her to open up to her." He suggested and I furrowed my brows.

"That'll be hard, I feel the constant need to be around her, to see her and protect her." I frowned.

"That's the mate bond working its magic, it'll be just for a week."

"Thanks." I said as I went to opened my room door and entered without giving him any solid answer.

What do I do with my life now? I'm not sleepy, I went to my suitcases and begin to unpack, after thirty minutes of unpacking I took off my clothes and carried my towel to the bathroom, I decided to use the bathtub. I spent about half an hour in the bathroom which was unlike me, I brushed my teeth and got out, I changed into my PJ and crashed on the bed, darkness immediately engulfed me.

A knock on my door brought me out of my dream land, I groaned as I shuffled out of the bed.

"Who is it?" I groaned as I dragged myself to the door, I opened the door and I saw a weird guy staring blankly at me with his lip in a thin line and his hand in the air.

"Good morning, Alpha said I should inform you it's time for training." He said faking a smile.

"I'll be right down." I said not amused.

"Okay, we are training outside today so head to the field, it's on the right side of the pack house." He said nervously. Weird.

"Okay." I said and slammed the door in his face, why? I don't know, do I care? Not even in the slightest.

I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and did my business, I changed into my sweat pant and a loose grey shirt, I exited my room and went downstairs, I met a few people on my way down but they all ignored me. As I got out of the house I went right and walked straight, I reached the field and saw some guys chit chatting together, I saw a couple girl but they are not more than twelve, the rest were physically fitted guys, I spotted Alpha Titus standing with two other huge guys.

"Glad you could join us." Titus said as he walked towards me, I wanted to reply him but I didn't know what to say so I kept shut.

"Hoddle up!!", he commanded. His voice was loud and stern. Immediately everyone on the field came closer to us, he turned to them, I was standing right next to him along with the two other guys "we are going to do twenty laps around the pack!!!" As he said this I heard some people groaning.

"Begin!" He commanded and everyone started running and I followed suit without thinking. He said twenty laps, as I ran I remained focused and I counted in my head. One lap, two laps, three laps.....tenth lap, fifteenth lap.

I couldn't help but notice that now there are only four guys in front of me, something stirred inside me and I felt the urge to be in front of all of them, I quicken my pace, my heart beat faster as I ran past the fourth and third person in front of me. Sixteenth lap, I ran faster and now I have only one guy in front if me, eighteenth lap, I was now in first place, I kept running faster so as to maintain my first place, the field came into view....twentieth lap, and I stopped, a few feet past Alpha Titus.

I took a few deep breaths and in seconds I was back to my normal self, I turned to look at Alpha Titus and the guys that were with him, both guys looked shocked while Alpha Titus has a slightly shocked expression, I shifted from one leg to the other as we waited for the rest of the group to arrive.

Two minutes later, the guy that was in front place before I overtook him came into view and so as the others, they joined us panting and breathing heavily, as they regained composure they all looked at in me in shock. What?l Have I grown another head?

"Took you guys long enough!" One of the guys standing next to Titus said and he straightened up.

"So we are going to start with the usual, grab a partner and begin training, one of you will attack while the other defends!!!!" Titus said and they all begin to pair up. I stood there awkwardly not knowing who to pair with and no one wants to even pair with me.

"Wanna partner with me?" A guy walked towards me with a sick grin on his face. He doesn't look too tough, he is physically fit, he is packed with muscles and me? I'm sure if I'm well trained I can handle him but I have little to no training.

"Sure." I said as I cracked my neck and jogged on a spot for a couple of seconds as warm up.

"You'll defend while I'll attack." He said and took his attack stance which was different from the one Ronnie taught Timber and I but was kind of similar.

I took my defence stance just the way Ronnie taught me, he lunged at me and tried to punch me in the face, I duck and did the grass cutter technique swiftly sweeping him off the ground, he quickly recovered not giving me any time to take my defence stance.

He lunged at me again this time trying to use my technique against me, I jumped up and kicked his head, he fell back groaning, he recovered after a few seconds. He got up and shook his head vigorously, he swung his leg at my face, I blocked his attack with my hand, he swung his second leg at me and I blocked it also, he tried punching me several times I kept dodging and blocking he wasn't giving me time to attack.

I needed to move fast, I dodged his punch and swung fist into his side, he stumbled back with a groan and I swung my leg and it collided with his head. That wasn't enough to bring him down, I tried the technique Timber did, I threw my body in the air and twisted my leg swinging it at him, it collided with his head again and blood poured from his mouth, he fell to the ground groaning, I waited for him to get back up but he was too weak, I defeated him.

"You bastard!!!" I heard a Male voice yell, I looked to the direction and saw him sprinting towards me, he leaped and tried to kick me, something stirred inside me and I dodged it swiftly.

What's going on? I thought this was supposed to be training, the same guy came and started kicking and punching me, I was dodging and blocking not wanting to fight back and hurt him, my thoughts distracted me and he successfully kicked the side of my face.

Something stirred inside me and I kicked him in the gut, he stumbled back, I gave him no time to react, I grabbed his neck and punched him several times in the face, I let go of his now bloodied face.

Another guy lunged at me and on instinct I grabbed his shirt threw him above my head, he landed hard on the ground behind me with a loud thud.

"What's going on here?" A really huge guy asked as he walked up to me stopping five feet from me, I looked around and saw that everyone had gathered around me, before I could speak a woman spoke up as she rushed to one of the guys I hit, the one with a now bloodied face who was trying to get up.

"He just came and started attacking everyone!!!!!!" The woman yelled as tears rolled down her chubby cheeks.
