CHAPTER 1 10 Years Later ~ I walked up our driveway, smiling ear to ear with joy. Because today, my boss let everyone off work early. And I plan to use my extra free time, diligently. I was going to prepare me and Nathan a nice cook meal, with all of his favourites. Because lately he's been acting unusual. My guess is that it's all the stress he's taking in. From he's job as the new manager, plus all the wedding plans we have to do. But as I fished out my keys from my bag, I froze in my spot. I heard strange noises coming from inside the house. I then shakily unlocked the front door, opening it slowly. " Odd, Nathan shouldn't be home until later on.' Hazel thought to herself. I then felt my heart shatter as I heard the noises become more loud. And it was coming from me and Nathan's bedroom. I felt everything in me stop, as if time froze everything within me. Only when I heard my fiancé's name being called, did I come back to my senses. I didn't know how long I stood there, but my guess is that it was a while. Seeing that I heard the woman's voice speaking to Nathan. "Isn't your wife going to be back soon?" The woman giggled. "Not until later on, and besides. We aren't married yet." Hazel fell to her knees after hearing her fiancé's reply. So much pain consumed her, as she started to recall all the good times they had together. Weren't we in love? Hazel asked herself, tears shedding from her eyes as she stood up weakly. Hazel then left their house, leaving to the only place she knew. Damien's place. Her best friend.
