“You are right,” the Earl agreed. “I think it would be a mistake for anyone who is prepared to pay to dance with you to be neglected. I will drive you over and we can talk about our plans as we go.”
“Will you really do that?” Joanna asked. “It is so very kind of you and it would be delightful to ride in your carriage with two horses rather than mine when I can only have one horse.”
“I will order the horses brought round immediately and we can have luncheon early,” the Earl said. “We will then call on as many people as you can think of.”
