Tia The cold night air hit me as I stepped out of the hospital, tension still coiled tightly in my muscles. I hadn’t realized how suffocating the air inside had been until now. My breath came out uneven, the weight of everything finally catching up to me. Adrian is awake. Even if it had been brief, he had opened his eyes, spoken. He is here. He is alive. I wanted to spend more time with him but unfortunately it is impossible in Margaret's presence. And I left after she tried to get to me to leave him for the umpteenth time. I walked a few steps away from the entrance, my heels clicking against the pavement, before pressing my back against the cool exterior wall of the building. I let my head tip back, staring up at the dark sky, my breath fogging slightly in the crisp air.
